🇬🇭⤴️🌉GHANA’S NEW ECONOMY: UNLOCKING PRIVATE-SECTOR GROWTH, CREATING JOBS, AND BUILDING A PROSPEROUS FUTURE 🇬🇭
President John Dramani Mahama’s proposed New Economy Policy aims to mobilise $2 billion annually over five years to drive private-sector growth, industrialisation and job creation.
By investing in agriculture, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, tourism and logistics, Ghana can empower young people, reduce import dependence and expand local production.
Linked to the 24-Hour Economy, this vision offers an opportunity to transform enterprise, attract investment and build a resilient, job-rich economy where Ghanaian talent can thrive.

I've known people who were essentially doing managers work for starting salary, and they got all the blame for anything that goes wrong and none of the praise for anything that goes right..

President Mahama made mention of it last week.
Talk and do president.
LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL: THE SIMPLE ELEGANCE AND MODERN BEAUTY OF ACCRA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. 🇬🇭✈️
Sometimes, beauty lies in simplicity. A proud reflection of Ghana’s growing global presence, where elegance meets functionality and every arrival tells a story of opportunity, connection, and home.

I hope you factored inflation into your calculations?
A bag of cement was 25 cedis; under the NPP, it rose to 130 cedis.
Pepsodent went from 7 cedis to 20 cedis.
A ton of iron rods went from 2,500 cedis to 9,700 cedis under the NPP.
5kg of rice went from 25 cedis to 150 cedis
Base Pay increments since 2010 when the single spine salary structure was introduced are as follows:
2011 = 20%
2012 = 18%
2013 = 10%
2014 = 10%
2015 = 10%
2016 = 10%
2017 = 12.5%
2018 = 11%
2019 = 10%
2020 = 10%
2021 = 4%
2022 = 7% +15% COLA
2023 = 30%
2024 = 25%
Today, John Mahama is giving 6%.

In 1989, a woman sold her late mother’s house to pay her husband’s debts, only to discover a locked room behind the wardrobe while workers were preparing the building for renovation. Inside were children’s clothes, birth certificates, and photographs of five children she had never seen before, all bearing her mother’s name as their guardian. The last photograph made her collapse because the little boy standing beside her mother was her husband, and written behind it were the words: “We must never let his wife discover what happened to her first child.”

Sometimes, the biggest reason people remain stuck in life is not a lack of talent, money, or connections, but the fear of making the wrong decision.
My neighbour, Raymond, experienced this when he received an unexpected opportunity in Abuja. He had spent three years working as a graphic designer from his small apartment, earning just enough to support himself and occasionally help his parents in Enugu.
One afternoon, a growing advertising company contacted him after seeing his designs online. They offered him a six-month contract that could eventually become a permanent position.
Raymond was excited, but instead of responding, he began questioning everything. Was the company genuine? Would he be able to handle the workload? What if he resigned from his current job and the contract ended? What if he negotiated for more money and they withdrew the offer?
He asked five different friends for advice, watched countless videos about career decisions, and spent days researching the company.
Meanwhile, the deadline to accept the offer was approaching.

Vanpee has served under different generations of NDC leadership and worked with party members at different levels. That depth of experience cannot be manufactured overnight.

Toxic generosity is real, and many of us grew up thinking it is love.
Toxic generosity is when someone gives to you, not because they love you, but because they want to own you.
They pay your rent. They pay your school fees. They buy you a phone. They help your family. Then they use it as a weapon every time you disagree with them.
"After everything I did for you?"
"Have you forgotten who helped you when you had nothing?"
"If not for me, where would you be?"
That is not generosity. That is a transaction disguised as kindness. That is a loan with emotional interest.
Toxic generosity also looks like this:
A person who gives to everybody else but starves their own house. He will spray money at a party, pay for strangers' drinks, dash his friends 50k, but his children are at home without food and his wife is borrowing money for transport. He is not generous. He is addicted to applause.
A person who gives what they don't have. She will borrow money to give to her family, take loans to sponsor people, empty her account to impress people, and then cry in secret because she is drowning in debt. That is not kindness. That is self-destruction wearing a halo.
A person who gives and then announces it. Every help must be posted. Every gift must be recorded. Every good deed must be announced to the world. If nobody sees it, they won't do it. That is not generosity. That is performance.
Real generosity has no strings. It doesn't keep receipts. It doesn't remind you every month. It doesn't control you. It doesn't make you feel small for receiving.
Real generosity says, "I helped because I could, not because I want to own you."
Toxic generosity says, "I helped you, so you owe me your loyalty, your silence, your body, your decisions, and your life."
Listen, if someone's help comes with fear, guilt, and control, it was never help. It was an investment in your slavery.
Learn to say no to help that costs you your freedom.
And if you are the giver, check yourself. Are you giving from love or from ego? Are you helping to lift people or to keep them under you?
Because generosity that destroys the giver and enslaves the receiver is not generosity at all.
It is manipulation in fine clothes.
