I made Shirini Papioni today as we reach 80 days of internet blackout. I know it’s not much, but I will keep exploring the baking traditions of Iran to highlight the Iranian people, who need to be at the centre of every story about Iran. ❤️🇮🇷

This week I made Loz 🇮🇷❤️
It’s been 74 days now of internet blackout in Iran, and whilst the media may have moved on, I’m still thinking of the Iranian people, cut off from the rest of the world. Hoping this is a small token to show that we care and have not forgotten!

Over the last week I’ve made the most of the unusual British sunshine and made 9 batches of lavashak - each one slightly better than the last!
Making lavashak takes a lot of love and patience, but over the same time the people of Iran have endured another week of internet blackout, 9 weeks now, and increasing executions.
I hope in this small way I can send love to all Iranians out there - you are not alone, your time is coming! ❤️🇮🇷

Cake yazdi this week as my way of honouring the people of Iran who continue to suffer at the hands of the regime, silenced and cut off from the world. You will not be forgotten and I will stand with you until Iran is free! ❤️

Thinking of the people of Iran today, especially those who were killed or injured by the regime 100 days ago.
This week I’ve made Shirini Nargili as my way of bringing back the focus to the people, the culture and the humanity of Iran, which will always endure. ❤️

It's been more than 45 days since Iran's internet went dark. And the Iranian regime is burning through MILLIONS per day to keep 92 million people offline.
Why spend so much to silence your own country? Because when you control the internet, you control the story. When a government won't let its OWN PEOPLE speak, question the narrative the outside world is hearing.
I made some Pofaki Gerdooyi today as my small way to bring attention back to the people of Iran, who are too often overlooked by the world and media.
I’ll keep speaking about the kindness and humanity of the people, especially as they continue to face repression and isolation imposed by the regime.

🗓️ Exactly six weeks ago on Saturday 28 February, #Iran fell victim to a regime-imposed internet blackout that remains in place after 1008 hours, now entering day 43. The censorship measure's harms grow daily, damaging livelihoods and violating Iranians' digital and human rights.

I will keep supporting the people of Iran against the regime and do whatever little I can to help their efforts
Iran WILL be free!

Sending love to the people of Iran this week by making nan-e berenji ❤️🇮🇷
Trying to do them justice while continuing to highlight the richness of Iranian baking, culture and humanity at a time when so many people are cut off from the outside world.

🗓️ Exactly five weeks ago on Saturday 28 February, #Iran cut off access to the global internet.
The measure remains in place, entering day 36 after 840 hours, isolating the general public as authorities explore ways to give chosen users access via a tiered whitelisting system.
Thank you all so much for your kind words! I’m keen to make ‘shirini’ from all over Iran so if you could comment and let me know of specific treats I can make from each province of Iran I would love to try! ❤️🇮🇷

3 attempts at making gaz this week, finally got to a passable one, however nothing compared to the original from Isfahan.
I’m continuing to make and share Persian sweets each week to bring attention to the brave Iranian people, who remain cut off from the world with more than a month of internet blackout. Standing with you all!

When I asked @BBCNews why they hadn’t covered the weekly peaceful marches to support a free Iran since January, they said that they didn’t cover marches in London. But that wasn’t true, it appears that they selectively only cover pro-Islamic regime marches.

Thinking about the medics in Iran who have been arrested for treating protestors.
Under international human rights law, medical facilities and healthcare workers must not be attacked or impeded from being able to carry out their duties.
Providing medical care is not a crime.

From the massacre of protesters in Iran #IranMassacre to the current strikes on Iran #IranWar, healthcare workers have carried an unbearable burden- treating the wounded through fear, grief, shortages and danger, while hospitals and clinics themselves come under pressure.
We must not forget Iran’s doctors, nurses and medics. #IranMedics @ICHRI @amnesty
For 4 weeks, 90 million voices have been silenced in Iran, whilst regime propaganda is promoted around the world.
Families are disconnected, civilians can’t access news and warnings, and the world cannot hear what the Iranian people want.
This blackout must end now.

🗓️ Exactly one month ago on Saturday morning, 28 February, #Iran was plunged into digital darkness as authorities cut off access to the global internet.
After four full weeks, 672 hours, the blackout remains in effect, violating Iranians' right to communicate and stay informed.
