This is the last of the tomato harvest I have to sort, eat or freeze.
I picked and sorted 75lbs of tomatoes today. I hope they ripen properly as there was a tiny bit of damage. Last night was very cold, about 5°C for a few hours. But tonight there is an actual - ❗️warm-weather-plant-kill-frost❗️ arriving with the expected 2°C low. The bean plants didn’t make out as well as the tomato plants did last night as you can see in the video. And, is it sheer coincidence that the kill frost of 2025 arrived on the same damn date! Last year I lost about 200lbs of tomatoes to frost damage. Not this year! In the next post I’ll share the ghosts 👻🍅💚

The Bible. I’m 52 and have never read the bible even though I attended church, went to Sunday school and attended a catholic high school. We were not taught to read it. Only to listen to what was preached. So, I’m reading it. Right now, I’m kind of skipping around and reading bits here and there and listening to random video’s talking about the bible. I own a 1968 copy of The Jerusalem Bible (readers edition) that belonged to my great aunt, Sister Loretta Doyle, who was a Nun with The Sisters of Charity in Saint John, NB, that I’m currently reading. However I’m very interested in acquiring the NABRE (New American Bible Revised Edition). Oddly enough I read The Book of Mormon before reading the Bible in 2020. So, what are you reading?
What are you reading right now?

Wouldn’t this just be lovely. X Money needs to be in Canada.🇨🇦
Most people don’t realize that if you get X money you could randomly be tipped $1,000,000 at any point. Become an instant millionaire only on X. Where else is this even possible? I’m not saying sit around and expect that to actually happen, although this application has the most billionaires scrolling daily than any other application, and could easily give 1M like it’s pocket change. You never know what you could wake up too.

Over the last week I’ve been harvesting the wild grapes growing on the shed. This morning I processed 4 quarts of juice and 2 cups of sauce from these wild grapes all of which is going into the deep freeze. I’ll make jelly using some of the juice and the sauce will get added to apple sauce and all will be canned at a later date.
Do you see the shed? After harvesting the wild grapes this fall I’ll be cutting back and clearing this overgrowth from the shed. It’s a bit too wild 🤪

Still sorting and ripening tomatoes. Yay! 🍅❤️🥰
The kitchen is getting cozy with this addition of tomatoes that the daughter and I picked this morning. This is not a bad problem to have.

Happy Thanksgiving 🇨🇦 to all my fellow Canadians! We ate dinner yesterday so today I’m canning Bosc pears and simmering turkey bones to make broth. Yesterday we devoured turkey, gravy, dressing, whipped potatoes, carrots, squash, peas, cranberry sauce, mustard pickles and chow chow for supper. Every vegetable was grown by either my mom or I and we made the preserves too. Today we get to eat leftovers. Yum. Have a great day everyone! 🧡
From this 🌸 to this 🍐 I just picked 10lbs of Bosc pears from the backyard tree 🌳 Now to wait for them to ripen just a bit before dicing and canning🫙

Final count! 🥁 44 Sugar Pumpkins! 🎃 And 6 very tiny cantaloupe’s. But the sugar pumpkins are the same size as what is stocked at the local grocery store! Yes I’M SCREAMING! 😱 I foresee many Thanksgiving pumpkin pies and Christmas whoopie pies being baked in the near future.
