Elon Musk says a chip for space should run hot, since raising the temperature 20% in Kelvin cuts radiator mass in half, and that a multi-trillion parameter model does not care about a few bit flips
“Well, I guess you want to design it to be more radiation tolerant and run at a higher temperature. So roughly, if you increase the operating temperature by 20% in degrees Kelvin, you can cut your radiator mass in half. So running at a higher temperature is helpful in space."
"There’s various things you can do for shielding the memory, but neural nets are going to be very resilient to bit flips. So most of what happens for radiation is random bit flips."
"But if you’ve got, like, you know, a multi-trillion parameter model and you get a few bit flips, it doesn’t matter. Heuristic programs are going to be much more sensitive to bit flips than some giant parameter file. So I just design it to run hot. And I think you pretty much do it the same way that you do things on Earth, apart from make it run hotter.”
Jensen Huang says he loves working with Elon Musk, and reveals their engineering teams are designing a new type of server to put data centers in space
“I’m delighted that I love working with Elon. He’s using our technology for his own AI in training models and such, deploying models, of course."
"Grok Bot is super cool. The demand for Grok Bot, the consumption for Grok Bot is really skyrocketing. And then, of course, he rents it."
"And so the combination of these three things, he’s fairly unique in doing that. I guess Google does that. That would be yet another example."
"And so I think he also has the advantage that he loves the intersection between computing and the physical buildouts. He loves that whole area. Nobody knows more about energy than he does."
"One particular new market that we’re going to go explore together is putting data centers out in space. Our two engineering teams are working super closely together to create a new type of server, a new type of architecture that might be super good in space and on Earth.”

THIS MORNING IN CA: Acting Deputy Attorney General @PADAGMcCotter announces charges against 28 Foreign Nationals in California for election crimes.
"Today's charges demonstrate why that lawsuit [against CA over its voter rolls] is so important. The lawsuit is about preventing voter fraud that cancels out the votes of U.S. citizens. Enforcing federal law increases the integrity of elections — it increases confidence in elections."

Today, Treasury announced that @FinCENnews has identified approximately $270 million in suspicious financial activity potentially linked to fraud against federal student aid programs. FinCEN has referred these findings to federal investigators to pursue potential fraud schemes targeting federal student aid programs and help ensure those responsible are held accountable.
These referrals underscore the Trump Administration’s commitment to eliminating fraud, protecting taxpayers, and safeguarding the integrity of federal student aid programs.

In case you were wondering if Larry Ellison would use his partial ownership of TIKTok to shut down the exposure of his billionaire buddies and their weirdness, corruption and grifting … wonder no more. TikTok just shut down the media page of the world renowned, Oscar winning director Alex Gibney’s documentary film “MUSK”. The comprehensive documentary on all things Elon. It’s more f&@&’d then you can imagine. The best thing any of us can do now is to go see it! It will blow your mind. Billionaire broke mind virus. Stop Russian compromise of your network devices by hardening your SNMP. We urge NSS and DIB admins to move to SNMPv3 immediately to ensure payloads are authenticated and encrypted. Full hardening guidance here: nsa.gov/Cybersecurity/Cybers…
ALT A slide detailing actions for administrators to mitigate Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) issues. It includes the following points: utilize SNMPv3 with authPriv for security, ensure administrative credentials are properly configured with different passwords for authentication and encryption, limit object identifiers to a predefined list, apply Extended Access Control Lists (ACLs) to mitigate unauthorized access, and segregate SNMP traffic to a separate management network.

Elon Musk: "The challenge is overcoming bureaucracy. And I think bureaucracy is perhaps the penultimate boss battle.
The ultimate boss battle is defeating entropy, which we mean, physics tells us we cannot defeat entropy. The second hardest battle is defeating bureaucracy. That's how difficult it is to improve government."

"According to physics, the end of the universe is a long boring thin gray soup of gradual cooling... So if the heat death of the universe is the outcome for our reality, then it really is all about the journey because the destination is terrible." — @elonmusk

He argues that government benefits and a lack of criminal enforcement can encourage immigration, while expanding their voter base.
Musk also claims Obama and Hillary Clinton shifted their positions on open borders over time.
