We were in Kawempe Municipality engaging local leaders, business owners and residents on service delivery, power reliability and safety.
Key issues raised: supply reliability, need for transformer upgrades, and joint fight against vandalism and illegal connections.
We thank the leadership of Kawempe for the warm reception and constructive dialogue. UEDCL is committed to following up on all issues raised and improving customer experience.

We engaged with key stakeholders served by our Wandegeya office in an open and constructive dialogue focused on strengthening service delivery, deepening customer relationships, and addressing challenges affecting electricity distribution within the communities we serve.
The engagement provided an important platform to listen to stakeholders’ concerns, understand the electricity related challenges affecting their communities and businesses, and jointly identify practical solutions to improve service reliability, responsiveness, and customer experience.

We are in Kyengera Town Council today listening to our customers & leaders. Powering communities together.
#UEDCL
At UEDCL, we believe that better service delivery begins with listening to our customers, understanding their needs, and translating their concerns into practical, timely, and sustainable solutions.
In line with this commitment, we held a stakeholder engagement meeting with key business and political leaders within the jurisdiction of our Nateete Office to discuss electricity related challenges affecting communities, identify priority service delivery gaps, and agree on actionable interventions.

My colleagues and I had the privilege of engaging stakeholders in Kira Municipality.
We updated leaders and customers on what UEDCL is doing to ensure reliable power supply - because we understand our role in Uganda's socio-economic transformation.
We shared:
→ Our Role: As the national distributor since 1st April 2025, we are mandated to increase electricity access from 58% to 100% by 2030 under NDP IV.
→ What we are doing: Some of the ongoing works include upgrading the transformer at Kawanda substation, splitting the overloaded Seeta - Bukerere distribution line, and installing transformers in overloaded areas among others.
→ Access: Connection is FREE of a one-pole and no-pole service under EASP, and only UGX 23,600 inspection fee beyond that.
→ Our ask:Support us to fight vandalism and illegal connections. They are the biggest drivers of blackouts and high tariffs.
More importantly, we listened. Your feedback on reliability, connections is our action plan for Kira Municipality.
Thank you to the leadership of Kira Municipality who showed up and spoke candidly.
The work continues to keep the lights on.

Rest well King Oyo. That childhood picture is so nostalgic - seems like yesterday you were crowned at 3.
The King of our times. Your life reminded us that leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less.

We are our choices.
Not our circumstances. Not what happened to us. The choices we made with what happened to us.
I meet people all the time who believe their story is already written that the version of themselves they once imagined (braver, healthier, more disciplined, more themselves) is a door that's closed.
It isn't.
Character isn't something you're handed. It's something you build. Decision by decision, the way a wall goes up one brick at a time. No single choice defines you. But you don't get the wall without the bricks.
So, if today you're not where you hoped you'd be, your history is not your sentence. It's your starting point.
It's never too late to be what you might have been. The only question is whether you're willing to choose it again, and again until it becomes who you are.
What's one small choice you could make today, in the direction of who you're becoming?
