For better or worse, if you're an artist trying to get paid, you'll probably learn really quickly that more often than not it's not a simple matter. Sales aside, there's royalties, copyright, licensing rights, distribution...the list goes on and quickly gets very overwhelming. For non-artists, I hope that this also shows to people the crazy things artists have to go through to properly "protect" their work. (And this is just one - imagine people who create content every day?) And even then, it's still up in the air whether they get fair treatment or not. I'd like to say that I found an elevator-pitch solution but that would be dishonest - so I won't. Creativity is necessarily complex; as with all of the things around it, too.
