I’m so angry to read this about Joe Duffy. It’s a reflection of how powerful trans activists are that @talktojoeduffy- the most well known and popular voice of the underdog in Ireland- considered a careful discussion about the importance of the word woman and mother “ the most wounding period of his career with the broadcaster.” I had already been cancelled by then and so I recently carefully tracked and documented the slide of the Irish media into shameless servility towards trans activists. When Ireland joined Nato's Partnership for Peace a quarter of a century ago the neutrality fetishists claimed it amounted to the end of neutrality. It never arose in national discourse again. Exactly the same will happen in relation to the triple lock. Former soldier Declan Power in today's Independent.

*Important, Let me explain the public money trail behind the viral advert about grandparents hugging their grandchildren. Four Organisations keep appearing: 1. CUAN, 2. Community Foundation Ireland, 3. Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, and 4. We-Consent. 1. Cuan is the State agency. Established in January 2024 to fund and coordinate domestic and sexual violence services, set standards, and run awareness campaigns. It sits inside the Dept. of Justice Its funding has risen from €58.6 million in 2024 to €84.4 million allocation for 2027 (+44% increase in three years!) At end of 2024 it had 28 employees. That year it spent roughly €3 million on staff, administration and board costs + another €4.2 million on awareness campaigns. In 2025 it allocated €58.36 million to 78 organisations (see pic below). 2. Community Foundation Ireland Denise Charlton is CEO of Community Foundation. She also sits on CUAN's statutory board, and is a named member of We-Consent’s advisory group. Community Foundation Ireland helped fund the original We-Consent campaign (launched 2023 by DRCC, with Dept of Justice support). Other CUAN board members also lead or sit on organisations that receive Cuan grants (including Women’s Aid and Galway Rape Crisis Centre and others). These links are publicly disclosed. They are not evidence of wrongdoing. Everything here is above board. But they do raise ordinary public-interest questions about conflict declarations, recusals, and how core grants are renewed versus the smaller open funding call (€3.2m in 2025). 3. We-Consent We-Consent is a DRCC project, not a separate State body. The precise cost, production details, and evaluation of this particular grandparents advert are not publicly broken out. 4. ***IMPORTANT** Dublin Rape Crisis Centre does important work. Supporting survivors and teaching boundaries are not in dispute. But my question here is: What measurable improvement has this new agency structure, CUAN, delivered per euro spent, and where is the independent comparison with the previous system? *The graphic below shows how €58.3million was distributed in 2025. CUAN's total budget allocation for 2027 is €85million.
The latest ad from the Irish Government to the Irish people, who are the font of all problems in the country and desperately need to be stopped from their bad behaviour. This time, it's hugging your grandkids.

I understand this advert has been suspended but there is no escaping how mean, hurtful and patronising it is. The Dept of Justice and CUAN need to reflect on its offensiveness. (Cuan have an €85m govt funded budget).
🇮🇪 The Irish state has published an advert discouraging grandparents from hugging their grandchildren, as part of a campaign designed to promote "consent".

NEWS: Ruth Coppinger's Non-Binary and Intersex Recognition Bill is up for debate today. The Countess wrote to all TDs urging them to reject this Trojan Horse bill, which is another attempt to collapse the gender ground. This bill changes the fundamental principle of a birth certificate, an accurate record of the facts of a birth, into an ideological one. This undermines women's rights and child safeguarding. People with DSDs have repeatedly asked not to be used as political pawns by trans rights activists. Vote No.

People Before Profit are actively planning on bringing the mayhem we're seeing in France to Ireland. Because nothing will help our young people quite like burning their own cities to the ground. It's funny to see how gung ho they are for civil unrest when their privately educated leader wet his pants last year because someone stood outside his house with a placard. Take a look - "Millions taking to the streets across Europe. Trade unions linking arms with students, tenants and communities in revolt against capitalist rentierism. A generation beginning to challenge the entire social order, with the possibility of a radical break coming into view." On the 29th of October, we’re bringing together socialists and eyewitnesses of the youth revolt sweeping Europe to discuss the lessons of these struggles and what it will take to build a movement here in Ireland capable of confronting capitalism and imperialism head on. From the streets of Paris to the streets of Dublin, we need to turn anger into collective action and scattered revolts into a force capable of challenging the system at its roots." Their event takes place at 6pm - Thursday Oct 29th - The Whistleblower, Dublin.

#shoa

I spend my days in the political bubble of Brussels. Hardly a day passes without someone condemning the extreme right. The extreme right should indeed be condemned when it is pro-Russian. The last thing Europe needs is an aggressive and self-assertive Russia. Yet we speak far too little about left-wing extremism - particularly the fusion of far-left politics and Islamism known as Islamoleftism. What we are witnessing in France - and, to some extent, in Belgium - is a wave of Islamoleftist violence and chaos that can now fairly be described as an intifada. We recently voted in Strasbourg on stronger measures against “entryism” - the infiltration of society’s institutions by the Muslim Brotherhood. Who proved to be the Muslim Brotherhood’s friends? The Left, of course. But unfortunately also the Greens and S&D. They opposed these stronger measures. This campaign against the established order in the heart of Europe must be resolutely opposed. Let us be honest: even if French lycées had just ten pupils per class, were housed in palaces and were equipped with gold-plated taps and leather-bound books, the Islamoleftists would simply find another excuse for rebellion. The schools are merely the pretext. The target is the social order itself.

When you burn down a building that houses a democratic entity you are attacking democracy itself. This is extremists manipulating grievances to attack Democracy itself. The Democratic State either defends itself or it’s lost.

It'll be interesting to see how many TDs are prepared to put ideological nonsense ahead of the need for objective data to support health planning or proper reporting of crime statistics or sex based discrimination etc, if this ever gets to a vote.

A bon entendeur.
