A few months ago, @FordCanada asked if I would share my experience with my F-150 Lightning. I was thrilled to have that opportunity. It was an amazing day where I got to meet and work with a fantastic team.

Here's some more Fathom facts for today:
We’ve now cast 5,000+ giant aluminum unicastings and they’re already being used to build prototypes at Louisville Assembly Plant.
Each Fathom swaps 146 structural parts for just two giant aluminum unicastings on our Universal Electric Vehicle platform, cutting mass and optimizing energy efficiency to help support an affordable price point.

🚨 FORD HAS ALREADY PRODUCED OVER 5,000 MASSIVE ALUMINUM UNICASTINGS FOR ITS UPCOMING FATHOM ELECTRIC TRUCK!
Ford is making serious progress toward launching its affordable electric pickup in 2027.
Here’s what’s happening:
🔹 146 parts reduced to just TWO! Ford’s new manufacturing process replaces 146 structural components with two massive aluminum unicastings.
🔹 5,000+ unicastings produced at Ford’s Shelbyville Technical Center, supporting manufacturing development and prototype assembly.
🔹 Three-branch assembly process: Instead of a traditional assembly line, Ford can build major vehicle sections simultaneously before joining them together.
🔹 Lighter and more efficient: Fewer components mean reduced weight, improved energy efficiency, and simplified manufacturing.
🔹 Designed for repairability: Ford says these massive castings have been engineered with modular repairs in mind.
💰 Starting under $30,000, the Ford Fathom could become one of the most significant affordable EVs to hit the market.
Ford isn’t just developing another electric truck. It’s fundamentally rethinking how vehicles are manufactured.
If Ford can deliver on its promises, the Fathom could be an absolute game changer!
