The EU wanted Vucic's servile, corrupt Serbia willing to bypass environmental regulation so Germany can be provided lithium - and Russia wanted Vucic's continued refusal to divest from Russian gas
It's notable that this protest movement succeeded against international interests.

Заменик председника бирачког одбора у Деспотовцу је ПОЈЕО 2 гласачка листића.
The student protestors of Serbia have shown incredible resilience in the face of state violence and have now brought down the corrupt regime.
I joined them last year and saw the determination and political education that went into making this happen. An inspiration for us all ✊
Lots to be learnt from how the students have organised and built a broad front here - and it's sad this years long protest and organising movement hasn't had adequate media coverage.
I pitched to Novara etc to report on this, but no bite. We need to be analysing the successes

I do roughly agree with this -- emphasis on conflict and differentiation is crucial. I just think it should be on issues and in ways that bring 30% of people with us, not 10%. It's harder because the press are more likely to bite when you're being unpopular, but that's the game.
🎥 “We want to go the Farage route, not the Lib Dem route.”
Ashok Kumar of Greens for Palestine spoke to Novara Media about strategy behind the Green Party’s “Zionism is racism” motion, which took a year to organize and was designed to expose Labour’s politics. He said PM Andy Burnham’s response revealed him as little different from Keir Starmer.
Inspired by Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s France Unbowed and its “strategy of conflict,” the idea is to set the terms of debate, provoke a backlash, and heighten contradictions to force opponents to reveal positions.
Rather than chase more MPs by moderating its politics, Kumar says the Greens should use confrontation to shift the debate leftward and become an anti-establishment force.
“We want to drag [the paradigm] to the left kicking and screaming.”

Also worth saying that conflict is only half of LFI's strategy. The other is a comprehensive programme for moving beyond capitalism. Attentional conflict without that is just protest politics imo - you're not rly serious about the state, always assuming someone else will run it

Yes, Brad Lander should have coordinated with Israeli forces. Just look at how well they've treated their partners who follow the rules in the past!
This was not about harvesting olives.
It was about harvesting headlines.
Brad Lander’s latest stunt is nothing more than a calculated political provocation.
Lander traveled to a foreign country, deliberately entered a restricted security area, and participated in an unauthorized activity without the required coordination.
What makes this stunt even more outrageous is that his own team contacted Israeli representatives in the United States ahead of his visit and was explicitly informed that proper coordination with the relevant authorities was required.
He chose to ignore those instructions.
At a time of heightened security tensions, Israeli security forces have a responsibility to protect lives, prevent dangerous incidents, and maintain public order.
Had anyone been injured as a result of his reckless political theater, Lander would undoubtedly have been among the first to demand that Israeli authorities intervene and provide protection.
Brad Lander came looking for a confrontation. Now he is pretending to be its victim.
British overreliance on services and finance, already unproductive, now looks completely dangerous.
Meanwhile, Burnhamism has very little to say about the future we are hurtling towards.

Joe Todd argues the Greens need “a credible programme to transition away from capitalism – not only imagining the end of capitalism and what might come next, but planning in painstaking detail just how we are going to get there.”
