Had about 2 hours sleep, 3 hours listening to wind waiting for the window to smash and 4 hours wondering who made Captain Caveman a captain.

I find it amazing that the UK, an island off mainland europe, managed to build up car manufacturing to the point where it rivalled Germany in 2016. That was pretty good going for the UK. Then the Brexit vote hit and killed it.
The decline of the British car industry came in two Brexit stages. 1. Uncertainty post-referendum weakened the industry 2. Trade arrangements that replaced EU membership did lasting damage. ukandeu.ac.uk/from-pace-sett…

The Govt saying we must drill more fossil fuels so we can use the tax revenues to fund the green transition is about as logical as a doctor telling you to smoke 2 packs a day to raise the money for your lung transplant You don’t put out a fire by pouring on more fuel 🔥#Jackdaw

Well, I suppose this is the new normal for the foreseeable… Yesterday we spent over £32 million on gas to replace wind energy that we couldn't get to the right place.

One of the best short documentaries I've seen explaining why the energy transition is no longer just about generation, it's about the grid and, increasingly, storage. #SWB #Bettrification #EnergyTransition Key takeaways: • Britain doesn't have a wind problem, it has a transmission problem. Scotland produces more wind power than the grid can carry south. • Consumers pay twice: wind farms are paid to switch off while gas plants are paid to switch on elsewhere. • Batteries are scaling rapidly but there still isn't enough storage to absorb surplus renewable energy during major grid constraints. • The solution is clear: more transmission, more batteries, more flexible demand like EV charging and AI data centres, and smarter market design. The lesson extends far beyond Britain. Curtailment isn't a failure of renewables, it's evidence they're growing faster than the rest of the system. The answer isn't less wind and solar, it's accelerating the infrastructure around them.
What happens when we produce too much power? Full documentary released on X

You know what's worse than a lazy employee? A high performer who has stopped caring. Corporate life has a funny way of turning ambitious people into people who just want to go home.

The 5 am club is undefeated All my successful, consistent clients go to bed at 10 pm and wake up at 5 am to hit the gym Do with this what you wish
Said it before….I’ll say it AGAIN: If you work a 9-5, you’ve got a spouse, you’ve got kids, etc. Building the gym into your AM (pre work) schedule may be the ONLY WAY to raise your adherence to where it needs to be to drive meaningful/sustainable results Better to just accept this and act accordingly than it is to fight it for years and years to the tune of little-no progress

Reinforces does it not, the madness of sourcing all our transport energy from one source - oil. The prevailing beauty of an alternative EV solution is the variety of electrical energy sources from oil, nuclear, wind, wave and solar. The madness of a cycle of “oil crisis’ must surely stop and both the Ukrainian and Iranian turmoil reiterates this need. EV is as much about supporting a lower cost of living and energy security as it is about achieving net zero.

Just seen a post from Tynemouth RNLI on FB .. one of their team is doing the Great North Run (half marathon) in full inshore kit. He had set a target of £1,000, and the current total is £14,984, plus Gift Aid. Good British people are NOT represented by masked guys in balaclavas.
