Maybe enough Nathan Fielder “classics” for now.

Here’s why you drop $250 on a photo facsimile of Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby. You get to see him change “immaculate” to the unforgettable “effeminate” and you see him cut the limp “to speak crudely” from one of the novel’s best sentences. And there are such treasures on every page!

I wasn't sure until I got to the wolf and serpent. Nice.
Most writers, myself included, will never produce a sentence even half this good.

Quite right. My nonfiction bestseller, “As Nature Made Him,” and my debut novel, “About the Author,” were published 26 and 25 years ago respectively.
What great books have humans written the last 20 years? The publishing industry was already garbage

John Colapinto retweeted
Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller photographed in 1956. He was obsessed with her at this time, writing letters of an extremely sexual nature. One billet doux read: “I will kiss you and hold you close to me and sensational things will then happen. All sorts of slides, rollings, pitchings, rambunctiousness of every kind. And then I will sigh. And when you rest your head on my shoulder, then slowly I will get HUNGRY.”

This is the state to which America decided to bring itself.
Trump: I can't believe it took me 9 years to come up with Dumocrats. You take the E out, replace it with a U. Most people don't know, dumb. They all think that dumb doesn't have a B.

Excellent question and I need to talk to my agent about this.
Was @JohnColapinto involved and if not, why not?

What a great scene. Funny and touching. And I can easily believe that Orson would have related to Ed.
Vincent D’Onofrio was pissed when he found out his Orson Welles cameo in Ed Wood had been dubbed over by Maurice LaMarche (the voice of The Brain from Animaniacs). He didn’t stay mad; he channelled it into Five Minutes, Mr Welles, winning acclaim for his performance as Orson.

I’ll never forget her review of this unbelievable turkey of a movie. It was absolutely the moment everyone knew she had jumped the shark
The box-office failure of BLOW OUT was, I think, a tragedy for De Palma and for John Travolta—it’s just about the best work each of them has ever done. But it probably served as a warning to some of the people who might have wanted to do something politically sophisticated.

I remember when Trump gave this almost exact same speech.
Mark Carney, "In the heart of Germany, above Weimar, there is a wooded ridge called Ettusberg. And for decades, Goethe walked, thought, and wrote there. An oak on that ridge came to bear his name, a living monument to the highest ideals of European culture" "As the 20th century turned dark, that same oak became trapped behind the barbed wire of Buchenwald. A silent witness to humanity's deepest moral failure. Goethe understood that ideals must be fought for, that values do not defend themselves." "Indeed, at the end of Faust, the old man's last vision is of a free people on free ground. Nödvg, Värdjän, Siegfreiheit. Wie das Leben, de taklik si eroban mus" "Freedom and life must be earned every single day" "Every day" "Every day, not once in 1945 or 1956 or 1989. Every day, including this one." My take: 1945, 1956 and 1989 are not distant history lessons: they mark Europe’s liberation from fascism, Hungary’s uprising against Soviet rule, and the fall of the Iron Curtain. Carney’s point is that freedom is never something Europe simply achieved and banked forever - it is a choice, a responsibility and, when necessary, a struggle renewed by every generation.

I bailed when he described washing his face with broken glass in a fit of teenaged emo-despair after a breakup. There is no further mention of his torn up face. His parents, teachers, friends, don’t mention it. Purest bullshit. Handsome guy, tho.
Autofiction that first supposes prodigious, painstaking memory (a scene that lasts 80 pages) and then revokes it in the next section, claiming “no memory of childhood.” What is this sorcery.

Incorrect use of “incredulous.”
NEW: Maria Bartiromo’s lawyer Bryan Freedman sends statement: For many years, Maria Bartiromo hosted three number one rated television shows on Fox channels. She has been, without question, one of the hardest working journalists throughout her award winning career. The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false. Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth. Bryan Freedman, Attorney for Maria Bartiromo

[DON'T LOOK NOW] This new Gothic of Roeg's is baby talk joined to dislocation. And isn't that just what Warhol was doing? Only Roeg joins the cool indifference to rich elegance. Maybe it's from the tension between the two that we get that faint, erotic vertigo. (1973)

Wait’ll you hear about this small complication over the Strait of Hormuz
Replying to @HormuzReport
What a cuck post! The U.S. has lost ~20 soldiers and had a warehouse destroyed? IRAN has had at least 2 heads cut off, lost billions, has had billions in damage, lost most of its defensive military, lost its navy, lost its air force, lost over 20,000 soldiers, etc, etc but you think they have won? 🤣🤣🤣 They have the ability to terrorize commercial traffic on the strait that they DO NOT control. That is it! The U.S. is not giving them anything that isn’t already theirs amd ONLY if they submit like good little DOGS.

Proust decided that friends and conversation were a waste of time. Took away from his writing. I mean, whatevs…
Does anyone else have basically no close friends and just spend most of their time at home?
