“The costs of things are absolutely the first thing people talk about, but also it’s their pay not keeping up with the cost. It’s a double whammy.”
Filling up a Ford F-150 truck now costs about $100, up $30 from a year ago. Mortgage rates have jumped to levels that have depressed home sales. And for the past 12 months, consumer prices have risen faster than paychecks, making the average family poorer. abcnews.link/lZflzAb

It’s official. I’ve submitted my petitions to get on the ballot for Mayor, Chicago ❤️
We delivered my petitions Chicago-style: in a tamale cart. Thank you to Jorge Haro and La Casa Del Pueblo for providing delicious tamales this morning.
I’m running for mayor to give small business owners, entrepreneurs, working families and all Chicagoans a voice at City Hall.
Ours is a people-powered campaign. Thank you to all the supporters who came out - I couldn’t have done it without all your hard work.
And thank you to every Chicagoan who signed my petition and took a bet on a brighter future for our City.

PR pro-tip: Don’t blame your earpiece or the connection to dodge journalist questions during a live media interview. As this exchange shows, such an evasion speaks volumes and can do more damage to your credibility than a straightforward answer would have.
"Talk about an October surprise."
CNN: This gas price spike is stunning. Voters were already very mad about high gas prices. Now they're going much higher. Talk about an October surprise. Two days ago, the average in Michigan was $4.44 a gallon. Look where we are now. $4.77 a gallon. That's a $0.33 increase. Look at Ohio, another major battleground state. We're looking at a $0.39 increase in the last two days.

Good news from the Vatican today on the health and recovery of Pope Leo XIV
Pope Leo XIV’s doctors have confirmed that the tumor removed on October 13 was a lung adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localized.
Dr. Luigi Carbone and Professor Stefano Margaritora said on Wednesday evening that a subsequent oncological assessment has confirmed that “no further treatment is necessary.”

Just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad and had a few things in mind to buy and literally was looked at as if I couldn’t afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me. Wow, dude. You’re an idiot and just lost a huge sale. But y’all should go check out Art of Play in Brooklyn if you enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts character in Pretty Woman. For sure, check it out 👎

Every kid who went to Catholic school had to write papers on this in social justice classes, and the consistency of pro life position. It is not new policy but is getting new attention due to what American political leaders are saying about execution and public execution.
The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty

One of the top reasons #DaBears fans love Mike Ditka: he made us feel like we were on the journey with him. He loved every minute and, even on days when he raged, it was evident how good it all felt. He made us feel it, too.
