Everyone's "unpacking" stuff? "Let's unpack the marketing plan." "Great question, I want to unpack that." When did everything get so packed? What's with this overused word? I absolutely hate it.

Normalize skipping conclusion paragraphs more. Everyone wins. You don't have to reiterate stuff all the time. Let people move on with their day is what I say. #copywriting #writing

In my time as a B2B PR pro and go-to-market communications strategist, I've seen nearly every error in the GTM book, but here are the four most common that I've seen. Fresh newsletter just went to 685 folks: forberger.substack.com/p/4-c… #gtm #gotomarket #b2bmarketing

"It's like UBER for..." has to stop. You're saying nothing. Zilch. Nada.

What's the oddest LinkedIn intro message you've seen? This is my pick.

Cold pitching prospects has made up nearly 24% of my revenue in the last 5.5 years. Completely cold. AMA anything as I walk my 16-year-old pup. Yeah 16 going on 5 weeks, weird, I know.

Dear #B2B tech founders, Use buyer insights to improve what you build and sell. You can't have GTM alignment without insights. #gtmstrategy #gtm #gotomarket

B2B content marketing is flawed but skip the blame game. Insights research has been around forever in B2C, which is why I never subscribed to the standard B2B path of starting with keyword research. 🧵 Follow along.

Beginning with insights research is the initial starting point. You got to know your target audiences inside and out before doing anything else. This includes: - Job titles - Content barriers - Events they attend - Fav podcasts/newsletters/industry pubs

After knowing the language your customers use... how they describe you to others... how they'd replace you... and more... you can develop a content plan. Stay away from keyword research at the start if you want to stand out. It's a cake layer, not a foundation.

Them: "We update our database daily." Me: "How come you don't have 11 people on TechCrunch's masthead?" Them: "We'll add them. What are the names?" Me: "Why am I paying you?" #pr
One reason I don't think media databases are always worth the expense is that they often don't include journalists that are listed on a media outlet's masthead. Better to do your own research & spend that $ on something else (like a consultant) to help you pitch news & stories.
