#OCTOBER29: WHEN A NATION WEPT AND A STATE STOOD ALONE A Poem for Our MO29 Heroes and Heroines. BY JOHN ERNEST CHACHA KITOKA On October twenty-ninth, the earth remembers, The blood-soaked streets, the grief that lingers, The youthful dreams cut short in their prime, The stolen tomorrows, the silenced chime. Thousands of innocents, the majority young, Were silenced by bullets for daring to speak. They marched for their rights, for a future made fair, But death and terror were waiting there. And now, as the world bows its head in sorrow, Remembering lives denied their tomorrow, The Tanzanian State stands isolated and alone, A fortress of power on a cold, bloodied throne. Even the world has found words for its grief; Even a lowered flag has offered relief. The US Embassy lowered its flag at half-mast, A solemn tribute to lives lost too fast. Yet those who should mourn with their people in pain Cannot muster the courage to acknowledge their slain. Under Samia, the State turns away, As grieving Tanzanians remember this day. O mothers who weep, O fathers who mourn, O families whose futures were brutally torn, Your children are not forgotten, their sacrifice not vain; Their memory lives beyond denial and pain. No commission, no denial, no carefully spun lie Can erase the truth or teach memory to die. No flag can conceal what a nation has seen; No power can silence the cries of the slain. October twenty-ninth shall forever remain, A date etched in courage, in sorrow, in pain. Let history record what the powerful ignore: A nation demands justice, accountability and more. Rest in peace, children of Tanzania, rest. Your dreams were precious; your courage was blessed. Though your lives were stolen, your memory shall endure, Until justice is served and freedom is secure. NEVER FORGET OCTOBER 29, 2025. NEVER FORGET OUR MO29 HEROES AND HEROINES. NO JUSTICE, NO CLOSURE. NO TRUTH, NO PEACE. #Mo29 #JusticeAndAccountability #SamiaMustGo @MariaSTsehai @USAmbTanzania @ChademaTZ2 @ChademaDiaspora @HecheJohn @Pirlo60

Good news indeed in the fight to end HIV/AIDS. #HIV #AIDS @wizara_afyatz
Good news: a generic version of lenacapavir for HIV prevention has been FDA-approved. More manufacturers can help lower costs and increase access, bringing this game-changing innovation within reach of the countries and communities that need it most. Innovation saves lives only when access follows. #UnitedToEndAIDS healthpolicy-watch.news/fda-…

Wakili Alex Kubo, reports that the abduction of Wakili Abshir Ahmedsadak is directly linked to a case at the Makadara Law Courts, where he complained against known NIS, ATPU and military intelligence officers. He says that these officers had earlier indicated that they would interfere with the matter. There is an abduction unit within the police force which needs collective noise from active Kenyans if at all we want to stop them. #FreeAbshirAhmedsadak #EndAbductionsKe

HRF condemns the Oct. 25 abduction of exiled Tanzanian opposition activist Twaha Salim Mwaipaya, which adds to a concerning pattern of transnational repression against dissident refugees in Kenya. HRF calls on Kenyan officials to establish his whereabouts, produce him before a court, and guarantee that he has not been forcibly removed to Tanzania. #FreeTwahaMwaipaya

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨: WABUNGE WA KIMATAIFA WAMWANDIKIA SAMIA, WATAKA HAKI ITENDEKE KWA TUNDU LISSU NA UHURU WA KISIASA ULINDWE TANZANIA Wabunge kutoka nchi mbalimbali duniani wamemwandikia Rais wa Tanzania, Dkt.

The state of democracy in Tanzania is deeply concerning. The crackdown on peaceful protest, on political opponents, enforced disappearances, and use of police force is unacceptable.

A timely and courageous intervention by UK MP @aliciakearns and fellow parliamentarians. Thank you for standing up for Tundu Lissu and the people of Tanzania. Political dissent is not a crime, and the call for democratic reforms must never be criminalised. Tanzania needs justice, accountability and democracy, not political persecution. #FreeTunduLissu #JusticeAndAccountability @HecheJohn @UKinTanzania @HouseofCommons @andyburnham @MariaSTsehai @10DowningStreet @ChademaTZ2 @ChademaDiaspora @EUparliament @davidmcallister
With 23 fellow parliamentarians from six countries and EU I've written to the President of Tanzania ahead of Friday's verdict in Tundu Lissu's trial. Political disagreement is not treason, yet Tundu Lissu could face a death sentence this Friday. The forthcoming judgment represents a defining moment for Tanzania, it must not become the basis for further repression of political opposition.

"DOWN DOWN WITH ABDUCTIONS DOWN!!!!!"
An Advocate, Abshir Ahmedsadak Abdi was abducted on 1/11/26 along Muchai Drive. His motor vehicle was recovered on the same road. The incident was at Kilimani Police Station - 55/1/11/2026 . Reports from people who witnessed the incident, indicate he was pursued by 2 motor vehicles, a Prado TX and a double cab. The occupants of those vehicles had guns and 2 were in what seemed like police uniform and bullet proof vests. The abduction is linked to a case he’s involved in against some senior police officers & he’s been subjected to various intimidation tactics prior to this incident. An attack against an Advocate is an attack on the administration of justice and due process of law. The involvement of police in extra judicial abductions continue to prevail despite repeated assurances that they will end. The police cannot behave as if the life of a Kenyan doesn’t matter. They are not above the law. @IG_NPS @kipmurkomen @ray_omollo intervene and urgently release our colleague from your agents.

In the case of missing activist Twaha Mwaipaya, state lawyers told the court that investigations are ongoing and denied police custody, requesting more time to file affidavits. However, Senior Counsel Martha Karua and Wakili Abner Mango strongly objected, accusing the police of negligence and complicity in enforced disappearances, while demanding that the Inspector General and DCI personally appear to explain Mwaipaya’s whereabouts, with a ruling set for 3:00 PM.
