This is not a laughing matter to those of us who have been through the suffering and death of a loved one while systematically denied the the assistance of immediate family members because of a government that cannot differentiate between casual and essential travel. Disgusting.
Why DIDN’T the chicken cross the road? He’s respecting our global travel advisory! It’s been a tough year, and laughter is a great remedy. On #MomentOfLaughterDay find some relief in laughter! Today share a laugh with your loved-ones.

As a child growing up these are beliefs that I held. As an adult I’ve grown to distrust the institutional Christianity that seems to have departed from these beliefs. I want to go back to this, the ideals that I held as a child.
A must-watch sermon from Texas Congressman @jamestalarico. Send this to every Christian you know.

Federal Court affirms that in a humanitarian & compassionate application it can be unreasonable for a visa officer, especially in the context of a 78-year old, to state that relationships with Canadian family can be maintained "by way of telephone, video call or potentially future visitations." This mistakes the ability to maintain contact with the ability to maintain any sort of relationship of a similar quality. decisions.fct-cf.gc.ca/fc-cf…

We might be seeing a Minister of Immigration that is actually grappling with issues of the day and not just the standard placeholder... >>"After several months of asking the Quebec government in vain to increase its family reunification capacity, Federal Immigration Minister Marc Miller says it's time for his government to pull rank.  Miller says his ministry will begin issuing permanent residence permits to those looking to unite with their loved ones in Quebec, regardless of the province's self-imposed cap on applicants, which he describes as "artificially low."  "We're talking about people who are husbands, wives, parents, grandparents, who are waiting unsuccessfully to be reunited with their families in Quebec," said Miller in an interview with Radio-Canada, calling the backlog a humanitarian crisis. cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/…

Tell us how well the IRCC citizenship @MarcMillerVM is doing against its published service standards. I see it’s up to a whopping 36% high point in the last 5 yrs. Many waiting years with zero app specific communications.

Talk to people waiting for their citizenship process to be completed for a reality check ! More than a year and half for most ..

As a new Canadian who has personally been stonewalled and lied to by the liberal led Canadian immigration for 6 years I’ll take my chances with the devil I don’t know vs the party who’s policy it is to obfuscate and mislead. @MarcMillerVM

I have concerns about the conservatives being in power, but I'm much more concerned about your government being able to stay in power. I'll take my chances with potential problems, rather than 100% certainty of the chaos you continue to bring.

Current federal gov doesn’t seem to give a damn about service delivery. Government managers responsible for delivering services to citizens should be required to have 10 yrs experience in private industry where customer service is life or death to business success. @MarcMillerVM

There are no protections against workplace harassment. I sent you an email and never received a response. An emotional email from a wounded Covid warrior. No response from your office. This government doesn’t care about nurses

The IRCC are experts at creating more work for themselves. Mistakes are never acknowledged but correcting them hurts both the IRCC and the applicant. Delays force expiry of background checks and photos. All need to be redone. They need to measure the cost of errors and delays.

“It's very expensive to identify the types of immigrants we want & need, recruit newcomers that fit the profile, process their apps & provide them w/settlement services. To have them leave the country after all this work provides us with little to no return on this investment.”

Attention @CitImmCanada @SeanFraserMP all portals dysfunctional for close to 1 week. No communications to clients about lack of access. Time to offer extensions to app. deadlines where clients cannot login to update or file apps on time due to system outages? This is #cdnimm

Good evidence that though humans make final decisions AI is being used to circumvent FIFO order processing resulting in some qualified apps taking years, AI decided they are not worthy of attention. AI is too immature to be used to determine processing order. Be fair! @tomkmiec

You can thank us by stopping the court appeal and give us a fair salary increase! We’ve earned it! Nurses know that you value cops more than us! You bend over backwards for them and screw us over!

If the IRCC would do this with all applicants they would be a creditable agency. What they do now is chaos. Citizenship applications deemed routine should not take 2 years to decide while others take 6 months or less. FIFO make decisions.
I honestly think it’s only fair to stick to the first-in-first-out principle though I know this approach can minimize the number of unhappy applicants

“They sent further emails. They applied to the web portal. They had people on their behalf calling the hotline hundreds of times and they were met with no actual responses. Days rolled by. Weeks rolled by. Months rolled by. And they’re in hiding.” #afghan thestar.com/news/canada/2023…
