This allows the organism to exist beyond an isolated simulation. Its environment is the internet. The system can continuously observe publicly available information, process external signals, explore new information, and accumulate context about events occurring outside its original neural environment. The objective is to progressively increase the number of signals it can perceive and the range of actions through which it can respond. The blockchain represents the organism’s second environment: an economic one. We connected the system to on-chain infrastructure and provided it with the capability to initiate the deployment of its own project through FLAP. The token therefore serves as more than a symbolic representation of the experiment. It establishes an economic layer surrounding the computational organism - an environment containing measurable resources, transactions, market activity, and eventually actions that the organism itself can participate in. The long-term objective is to progressively expand this action space. Future iterations are intended to enable the lobster to execute its first autonomous on-chain transactions, interact with markets, allocate resources, respond to changes in its environment, and participate in mechanisms designed to support and manage its native token ecosystem. This creates a feedback system between neural activity, information, autonomous behavior, and economic state: Biological neural research → computational organism → environmental perception → decision process → on-chain action → economic feedback → new environmental state. The experiment is intentionally evolutionary. Instead of defining the lobster’s final capabilities in advance, new sensory inputs, memory systems and executable actions can be introduced progressively, increasing the complexity of the environment with which the organism can interact. Lobster Network does not claim to reproduce the complete lobster brain, nor does it make claims of biological consciousness.
