Paystack’s Shola Akinlade visited his new club acquisition to meet fans and attend the board meeting.
#AarhusFremad fans are hopeful of a good deal that could transform their club. In his first interview @shollsman told me he’s in it for the long haul.

Well deserved Harry Kane and Alexia Putellas.
Saw Kane in Munich two years ago, humble guy, always speaking to the media, no airs. #BallonDor
When a Nigerian says a couple of days, a couple of minutes, a couple of times, it doesn’t mean two.
A couple (literally two) usually refers to “many” and “a few” in Nigeria-speak.
I find it interesting that it has been completely lost that meaning.
Can we start teaching Nigerian children how to measure distance properly?
In the UK, Europe, Canada or US, someone tells you a place is 5km away, and you know exactly what that means.
In Nigeria, our units of measurement are “just here,” “near near,” “small trek,” and the legendary “you will soon reach.”
Nobody knows whether that means 200 metres or 10 kilometres!
A society that struggles to understand distance will struggle with spatial planning, mapping, infrastructure and development.

PA REUBEN FASORANTI DIES AT 100: THE YORUBA NATION LOSES ONE OF ITS LAST POLITICAL PATRIARCHS
The passing of Afenifere leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti marks the end of an era. An Awoist, educationist, former Ondo State Commissioner for Finance and custodian of the Karọọjire tradition, he devoted decades to public service and the political interests of the Yoruba people.
He paid his dues to the Yoruba nation. Baba has gone to rest, but the responsibility of preserving his generation’s legacy now belongs to the living.

Has Barcelona finally met a team that’s better than them? Has looked like a target practice for PSG in the first half.
You’re right, you can see true thespians investing in the growth of their craft through building film villages and studios. The Idumota marketers were only interested in profit which kept the industry underdeveloped. The “marketers” held the artists and producers back.
Met a Brazilian colleague at work yesterday. The guy asked me if Nigerians know how crazy Brazilians are about their Yoruba heritage? I told him that the Rio Carnival is making it more obvious every year how much of a shared history both countries have.
If film makers like @realfemiadebayo @kunleafolayan and Ibrahim Chatta can tap into the Brazilian expertise, they can transform the outlook of their epic Yoruba movies. You only need to see how Brazilians depict the ancient Orishas in comics and the carnival.
Ghanaian artist Ibrahim Mahama’s recent installation ‘Voyageur’ in Naples, Italy, narrates the perilous journey of immigrants across the sea to Europe.
It reminds me of @AboloreSobayo’s ‘Community’ installation along the Agege Expressway. But Sobayo’s is larger and more complex
May his soul find rest and his family find strength. Saw him a few times on the beat in the past, but never really knew him.
