This is the maddest shout 😂 Absolutely not!
I don't like Liverpool fans (feels probably the same on their side) but with it being all about King Kev tomorrow, should Newcastle playing 'You'll never walk alone' ? Not sure if the club have plans to do this, just wondering. I hope they do.

This is class 👏
I WISH HE'D PICKED US BY GILES MOONEY When I was a child, about the time of my first trips to Roker Park, I watched Kevin Keegan captain Southampton. And I was transfixed. Not because he’d won two ballon d’or, won the European Cup with Liverpool and was the England captain, not because he’d been on Top of the Pops, not even because I had about 15 Panini stickers of him that I just couldn’t swap, but because he was the competitive bloke off Superstars. Young people, check out superstars on YouTube, it’s impossible to believe it was ever a thing. Keegan was cycling on a cinder athletics track, racing against the captain of Anderlecht (no I’m not joking) falls off and after initially appearing fatally injured, he suddenly feels much better after a glass of squash and goes on to compete in something else - probably squat thrusts against Brian Jacks. He ran the first ever Great North Run in a 50/50 Newcastle/Sunderland shirt to not cause offence… in football boots, yes, football boots. He had to stop near the end and change into a member of the public’s shoes to finish before donating to charity – 50p for every man who beat him and £1 for every woman (in those days that was a lot of money even for a footballer). He was a charismatic, personable, but really quite normal superstar... but I guess we need to talk about the elephant in the room. When he signed for Newcastle there were a lot of stories he might have come to us. He chose them and immediately understood North East football. He understood how much it mattered, how if you give 110%, the fans will shower you with love. And a player of that quality playing in the second tier giving 110% inevitably got the team promoted. He was the reason they had their success and what we often call hatred was, if I’m honest, jealousy. Such a personality, the relationship with the fans, I admit I was jealous. His departure after his last game tells you everything you need to know about him and his relationship with that club – it was how it would have been in a movie – if you don’t know google it. My hope was that his return as manager would lack that larger-than-life personality and that his throw caution to the wind style of play wouldn’t convert to management. As we all know, it didn’t go badly for them, though of course he never actually won anything, perhaps I’d not feel this way if he had. This was partly because of his personality and because his refusal to change his style prevented it. He cared more about the show than the result. Ferguson famously played to Keegan’s character, pressing all the right buttons to create that incredible melt down on Sky. To have a manager who cared that much is why he meant so much to those fans. It’s why they went, and he listened, when he sold Andy Cole, it’s why they forgave him when they fell at so many final hurdles. Kevin Keegan was a footballing icon who brought pleasure to those who watched him play and enjoyment to those who watched the team’s he managed whether it was those Liverpool 4-3 games or the England Germany 5-1. It was as entertaining and captivating as when I saw him fall off his bike when I was a child. I will always be sad he took the decision he did in 1982 because I wish he’d been my hero and not theirs. But he was their hero and, for once (twice actually after Bobby Robson’s death), I send them my sympathy and, of course, my sympathies to his friends and family.

This is wild - have to wonder whether this amis a sign of things to come. I.e. 1) the technology has a jump forward in terms of capability —-> 2) governments step in because of perceived (or real / uncertain) risks and just go “turn it off until we’re comfortable”
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

I’d love to know what percentage of these gurning idiots - specifically those who are carrying crosses - have stepped foot inside a church at any point over the last decade?
Petrifying displays of white supremacy. Since when did the UK get infected with christo-fascism? This isn’t the USA… teapawt.org/UltraBritannia/status/…

This feels like a new low? What a horrible post from a horrible man. These children seem absolutely lovely and I’d love my kids to be in their class 🤷🏻‍♂️
Is this the future you want for your children

The murder of Charlie Kirk is part of a disturbing rise in political violence that threatens to hollow out our public life. A free society relies on the premise that people can speak out without fear or humiliation. No more political violence.

In a list that is growing by the day, this is up there as one of the most blatantly racist things a public figure has said in recent weeks. Are we really allowing this kind of thing to become normalised in the UK? Really? I’m worried that the genie may be out of the bottle 😟
From Epping to the sea, let’s make England Abdul free

This is an excellent little (not so little) scout report about our new German superstar in the making 👀🤌
Mythbusting: Nick Woltemade 🇩🇪 It was only a matter of time until Nick Woltemade started getting links across Europe. He's a unique striker, with a ton of qualities, a few weaknesses, and some myths to bust...

1) Re Isak - annoyance aside, it’s a funny soap opera isn’t it 😂 FWIW I still think we may sell him and think the statement left that door open. Howe’s a magician man manager but it feels too messy now unless theres an almighty climb down (by Isak) and a performative apology

2) At this point I think we probably need to (in this order) sign Wissa, play Liverpool, “reluctanctly” sell Isak for £130+add ons (everyone saves face), and then go hell for leather to try sign someone now or in January. Use that big old fee to grow to club.

3) And make some noise about the other stuff the club needs to progress. Hire and announce a CEO Hire and announce a Sporting Director Announce the stadium plans Announce the new training ground Show the huge ambition we have beyond just the playing squad Get. On. It.

I can understand why the Big 6 might want and expect this disproportionate level of power and influence. It’s just super sketchy isn’t it 🤷🏻‍♂️
For anyone thinking that a 16/18 team Premier League won’t happen, this is version 18 of Project Big Picture, an attempt by Glazers, FSG, Parry and the rest of the ‘Big Six’ alongside initially then FA chief Greg Clarke, before the latter got cold feet. The fact that the scheme made so much progress is indicative of how serious it was to the owners. Note that only 9 clubs needed to vote on key matters involving the game, and a 2/3 majority…ie six clubs effectively control football. Who would those six clubs be?

I’m staying in a hotel in Switzerland, just had breakfast next to an English couple with one child, probably aged 5, he ate his breakfast watching an iPad on the table in front of him. I know this topic is a dangerous one but when are people gong to wake up to how wrong this is?
