What if the adversity you’re facing isn’t standing in the way of God’s plan, but is actually part of it?
The setbacks. The betrayal. The doors that close. Sometimes those are the very things God uses to move us where we’re meant to go.
Adversity isn’t always the end of the story. Sometimes, it’s a partner in our growth.
Trust what God can do with what you’re walking through.

Transformation doesn’t happen in a moment. It happens through time spent in His presence.
Through prayer. Through surrender. Through trusting Him again and again.
Romans 12:2 reminds us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
The more time we spend with God, the more He can renew what’s within us.
Prayer doesn’t just change our circumstances. It changes us.

Negativity doesn’t stay with one person. It spreads.
And what we allow, we encourage.
If someone is draining the energy of your team, don’t ignore it.
Confront them. Coach them. Love them. Give them the opportunity to change.
But if they refuse to change, you have to protect the team and the mission.
Great leaders don’t avoid the hard conversations.
They have them because they care enough about their people to protect the culture they’re building.

I wish someone would have told me to love the battle when I was a three-year starter in college but fear and worry kept me from enjoying the game.
Now I teach what I needed to hear then: love competing. Love the moment. Love the opportunity. Love the battle.
The more you focus on love, fear fades away.
Try it and pass it on to someone who is letting fear win.
Thanks to @PatMcAfeeShow for having me on and letting me share.

The more you pray the greater your capacity to lead and overcome challenges. A praying leader is a more positive and effective leader.

Negativity that goes unaddressed doesn’t go away. It grows.
One person can’t make a team, but one person can break a team.
That’s why great teams have the difficult conversations. They address the elephants in the room. They tell the truth. They don’t allow negativity to sabotage the mission.
The goal isn’t to get rid of people who are struggling.
It’s to transform the energy.
Energy vampires welcome. Expect to be transformed.

Culture is not posters on walls. It’s people who live the core values written on them.

Leadership doesn’t have to be complicated.
Let’s make it simple. Love people. Serve others.
Show you care. Leaders who love, serve and care build create cultures and great relationships with their customers.

One habit changed the course of Jon Gordon's life: a daily gratitude walk.
Now his new book, The Power of Positive Habits, gives you 93 more.
His advice: start with one. Find the habit that can change your life, put it into practice, and build from there.
Jon works with some of the best leaders in the world. What he sees over and over: the best stay humble and hungry. They're always looking for an edge and always asking how they can get better.
Five habits from our conversation that hit home for me:
→ Use the power of the second thought. You can't control the first negative thought. You can control the next one.
→ Connect before you correct. When people know you care, you earn the right to challenge them.
→ Forgive fast. The faster you forgive, the sooner you start growing.
→ Don't let old battles keep you from new victories. Put your energy into what you're creating next.
→ Never stop taking notes. Jon told me about Hall of Fame coach Billy Donovan, who finished his talk, then asked to stay and take notes from the other speakers.
The best never think they have it all figured out.
One more that isn't in the book. Jon told me the habit he wishes he'd included: get rid of your worst habit.
We all have one.
DM me your worst habit and I will let you in on what mine is!
