Simon Harmer (6-16) became the first spinner to take six wickets for under 20 runs in a men’s Test innings outside Asia since Derek Underwood claimed 6-12 in Christchurch in 1970/71.

If you want a laugh, listen to this nonsense spewed by MacGill and O’Keefe on Simon Harmer following SA’s second Test win at St George’s Park.

South Africa fought back impressively under pressure, with centuries from Ryan Rickelton and Wiaan Mulder, although late wickets restricted their lead to 287. With Australia needing 288 runs on Day 5 at Newlands, the first 15 overs against Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada could prove decisive: Jon Kent, former Proteas All-rounder & Commentator @JonKent23 @ahmadnawaz93 @SabaShafiq01 #SouthAfricaCricket #AustraliaCricket #WiaanMulder #PakistanTV

Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen are well-rested and expected to spearhead South Africa’s pace attack after battling stomach bugs in the first innings. Gerald Coetzee’s express pace could pose another threat, while Simon Harmer will have a crucial role: Jon Kent, former Proteas All-rounder & Commentator @JonKent23 @ahmadnawaz93 @SabaShafiq01 #SouthAfricaCricket #Rabada #Jansen #PakistanTV

This really needs regulating. If a league overlaps with another league, you can only play in one of them. Would be better for fans, easier for teams to plan, improves the integrity of the cricket, more clarity for broadcasters, I could go on

Yes Steve smith’s catching is great but his anticipation and the way he reads the game so well is what makes him so incredibly good in the slips.

South African pitches having this huge range of how they play is a key reason why the cricket there is so engaging. Raggers, green tops, occasional road - just so much more interesting than conditions where the main debate is whether you can get by without a spinner.

Can I say how excited I am that South Africa are playing two spinners in a home Test against Australia? I was getting so tired of all the no-spinner greentop Tests we've been seeing outside Asia and the West Indies of late.

Shortlisted for the auction at a R200,000 reserve price ✅ Qualifies as a rookie. Great prospect for any team looking to invest in a middle order hitter 👀

Blake Simpson, 21, looks a real prospect. Tall, powerful hitter, bats at 5/6 & also bowls decent leg spin. Contracted with NC for this season. Expect plenty of interest in the SA20 auction given his skillset. Should qualify as a rookie for next year's comp.
