"...correct mind management does not involve merely trying to 'think positively.' Instead, it’s better to try to think accurately. Good, accurate thinking means comparing different thoughts and selecting those most supported by evidence."

Everyone must be guaranteed human rights, whether they "work" or not.
Lol. Patty Murray is running, and Jayapal won't challenge her. The one we need is @lisabrown4mayor.
Americans have often preferred denying reality to facing it. See reaction to Grapes of Wrath.
The rich promote policies that help the rich while claiming the sky is falling in ways not seen in the countries that adopt them.
Ideas that sound good but have repeatedly backfired:
- Rent control (reduces supply and raises rents)
- Price controls (leads to rationing)
- Home loan subsidies (increases defaults and causes market crashes)
- Extremely progressive tax brackets (high earners have much higher income variance, sometimes going negative, so a bad year leads to massive budget shortfalls and debt)
- High capital gains taxes (too many investments fall below the zero-risk return rate, stalling the economy)
- Increasing the money supply (compounding inflation decreases purchasing power)
Indisputable economic and historical evidence shows these policies do not work. Yet politicians who know this keep promising them, and voters keep falling for it. I can’t blame educators or the media, as even they tell voters these policies do not work.
What’s the solution? I don’t believe in making people pass an Econ test to vote, but how many times do we let them drive into a wall?

Grassley is alive, and he's up for re-election in 2028. Please do a quick check of the facts before sharing this stuff.
Imagine winning a 13 point popular vote victory for president. You're talking 400-500 Electoral Votes.
New @CookPolitical: with more than 114 million votes counted, Dems' national lead in the House vote is up to 12.9 points. cookpolitical.com/vote-track…

I would love if we could channel the datacenter backlash into curbing the excesses of Big Tech in general. Get screens out of cars. Get computers out of refrigerators. Stop surveilling everything all the time, stop forcing me into the app, stop trying to steal my data.

I worked for Patty Murray. She later revealed that Strom Thurnond had groped her in an elevator when she was new.
There wasn’t even a women’s bathroom off of the House Floor until 2011.
Last night we elected over 100 women to Congress and counting!!! #herstory

This has been exactly @SoundTransit's problem from the beginning. Yet they deflected to blame fare evasion instead.

Rail can’t be adjusted as demand changes, so today many US rail networks continue to miss walkable destinations and focus instead on parking lots for commuters who now work at home. Rail planners are doing their best to make these systems relevant … 2/
