Linebackers: If you SHOOT THE PLAY too early, you’re stuck. If you SHOOT THE PLAY too late, you’ll miss. Learn to time it up and you’ll become a tackling machine.

Quick Linebacker coaching point: When you’re defeating a block with POWER… Attack HALF the blocker. It’ll be easier to disengage.

Linebackers: Once you learn how to REALLY study film… The game will slow down.

Linebackers: If you want more tackles, waste less steps.

Linebackers: When you’re working across a blocker’s face… DIP the near shoulder. Don’t give the blocker anything to work with.

Linebackers: You don’t need a new drill. You need to become more obsessed with the fundamentals.

Linebackers: Your game will improve dramatically once you LOWER YOUR PAD LEVEL.

Linebackers: A lack of eye discipline will cause more missed tackles than a lack of size.

If a Linebacker is OVERRUNNING plays, don’t tell them to “slow down”. Tell them to stay square longer, adjust their angle, and remove space from the ball carrier.

Linebackers: Don’t WRESTLE with those big Offensive Linemen. Strike, extend, disengage. Then go make the play.

Elite Linebackers aren’t perfect. They’re just DECISIVE. See it. Then ATTACK.

Linebackers: Leverage is everything. When you have it, fight to keep it. When you lose it, fight to get it back.

Linebackers: When your GAP moves… Move with it.
