over all its pretty clear that china is mostly lieing about how its improving and in addition, it completely outpaces america in terms of completely brutalizing the proletariat. Xi Jinping is comparable to like Xerxes or some other totalitarian emperor from a more brutal and primitive time.
ICE does do that, but you & I agree that these civilizations are human civilizations thus responsible for massive amounts of bloodshed & injustice what I'm asserting is that on the whole for the global sum of influence represented by the United States & China, the US is far worse

china is clearly out pacing the west at depriving people of their needs. it literally incarcerates people for things like protesting, "picking quarrels and provoking trouble" is a crime in china, which governs things like archiving deleted news articles or social media posts, reporting on disasters or citizen journalism, petitioning the federal government over local corruption or land seizures, posting memes, jokes, or social media commentary criticizing public officials or police.
"inciting subversion of state power" is also used against human rights lawyers, labor organizers, and intellectuals. you can be imprisoned under this for writing essays advocating for constittutional democracy, organizing independent trade unions, or publishing books critical of top leadership.
like bro, the state literally imprisons people for unionizing, how "communist" is that?
some additional examples of orwelian crimes include
Practicing Unsanctioned Religion: Operating or attending an unregistered "house church" (outside state-sanctioned Protestant/Catholic associations) or practicing Falun Gong can lead to immediate arrest, re-education, or forced labor.
Cultural and Ethno-Religious Identifiers: In Xinjiang, over a million Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities have been sent to extrajudicial internment/re-education camps for mundane daily habits, including:
Growing a "long" beard or wearing a veil.
Giving children traditional Islamic names.
Quitting alcohol or smoking (interpreted by state algorithms as a sign of religious extremism).
Owning a Quran or praying outside a state-monitored mosque.
Possessing foreign communication apps (like WhatsApp or Telegram) or contacting relatives abroad.
Tibetan Cultural Expression: Displaying images of the Dalai Lama, teaching Tibetan history outside state-controlled curricula, or advocating for language preservation can result in charges of "inciting separatism".
Using or Distributing VPNs: Setting up, selling, or using unapproved Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to bypass state censorship can result in hefty administrative fines or prison terms for "operating an illegal business."
"Spreading False Information" / "Rumormongering": Sharing news that contradicts official government lines, such as posting unverified casualty figures from natural disasters, reporting on local pollution leaks, or documenting public health crises, is criminalized.
Private Messaging Group Chat Activity: WeChat messages are actively monitored. Group admins can be held legally responsible and detained if members of their chat group post political commentary, forbidden history (like the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre), or criticism of CCP leadership.
Possessing or Distributing Banned Literature: Owning, smuggling, or printing books banned by the Party, ranging from critical biographies of political leaders to uncensored political history, can lead to raids and detention.
Commemorating Sensitive Historical Events: Holding private vigils or posting imagery commemorating June 4th (Tiananmen Square), the Hong Kong pro-democracy movement, or local protests routinely results in police visits and "being invited to drink tea" (a euphemism for police interrogation and forced warning) or criminal detention.
they also have extrajudicial systems designed to bypass standard trial processes.
RSDL (Residential Surveillance at a Designated Location): A legal mechanism allowing police to hold individuals, frequently human rights defenders, whistleblowers, and foreign citizens, in secret, solitary confinement for up to six months without access to lawyers, family, or courts.
Liuzhi (็็ฝฎ): An incommunicado detention system run by the National Supervision Commission (the state anti-corruption body). It allows state actors to hold public employees, business executives, or party members without trial or access to legal counsel.
and what do you say in response to this? "ICE!"
China literally has ICE and its called the NIA and it literally has more fascist power then ICE has, NIA can prevent people from leaving, ICE can't do that.

it is empirically manifest that across material categories of development, innovation, & technology, i.e. the societal indicators, the lot of the Chinese is increasing while the lot of comparably contextualized US citizens is aggressively decreasing at an alarmingly rapid pace
it is not objectively anything of the sort
as YOU said societies are complex mosaics of interdependencies & complex ecologies of relationships right so we obviously both understand that every in China or everywhere in the US is not the same that it is all context dependent & we

its pretty depressing that my arguments are clearly better then your's and yet you still just refuse to consider what i'm saying. i'm not being a cringeservative boomer, i'm thinking thoughtfully about what you are saying and am not just knee jerk reacting to the word "communist".
Its ironic, you could literally argue that china is such as hit hole because its actually not that communist and doesn't actually care about the proletariat and is clearly state capitalism, but again, because it just uses the jargon and aesthetic of communism, you want to believe that its an example of why communism is better.
it is objectively shittier in china then it is america.
and in any case, this is largely do to corruption that both are shitty, and in reality, a society needs both capitalism and communism to survive, you need to be able to maximize personal gain, and you need to have communal responsibility, for a society to function.
know that you can statistically model & rigorously investigate the distributions & proportions of said circumstances & contextual relationships, & arrive at conclusions as to the directionalities of probability distributions as they pertain to specific claims

i don't know the reports off hand but there they are makes it faster
im not ignoring that i'm saying that china is on a trajectory of providing the base of the hierarchy of needs for its common people while the US & collective west are on a trajectory of increasingly depriving people of these needs, privatizing them, & liquidating human surplus
Replying to @JonathanTdotexe
its the biggest cope ever to disregard what i'm saying that china is clearly a horrible place for much of its proletariat, you are doing the opposite of communism by not caring about that.

The IEA explicitly notes that while China leads in solar panel and battery manufacturing volume, it is also the world's largest coal consumer, burning over 50% of the world's coal and continuing to build new coal-fired power plants.
Both the IMF and Goldman Sachs have repeatedly highlighted China's structural headwinds: a severe property crisis, shrinking working-age population (demographic collapse), youth unemployment, and debt-laden state enterprises. Goldman routinely warns of China's growth slowing down toward 3โ4% long-term.
CSIS and Belfer Center reports focus on national security risks and state mercantilism, warning Western governments about supply chain vulnerabilities, not endorsing Chinaโs political economy as a utopian model.
ASPI's critical tracker highlights that Chinaโs academic research volume is driven by state-directed directives and heavily concentrated in defense-adjacent technologies, while also documenting systemic IP theft, academic censorship, and forced labor in high-tech supply chains.
China is literally a poster child of exploitation of the proletariat.
these data say otherwise
Replying to @JonathanTdotexe
all actual data contradicts what you are saying. Whats funny is that china is actually worse because, you could argue, its not really marxist, and is actually just much more fascist and exploitative of the proletariat, but because it pretends to be marxist, thats enough for you.
superior economic policy yields superior results
US imperialism wanted to outsource production & it did so it makes nothing & buys everything. analysts knew we would suffer from this & now our reshoring projects are a joke in this environment

Rare earth minerals exist abundantly in the US, Australia, and across the globe. China conquered 80โ90% of global refining not through superior technology, but by using lax environmental regulations and massive state subsidies to undercut foreign competitors on price. Processing 1 ton of rare earths produces ~2,000 tons of toxic waste (including heavy metals and radioactive thorium). Western nations initially outsourced refining because of strict environmental and worker safety standards, not because they lacked the technology.
these means china exceeds america in mineral exploitation specifically because they are more willing to exploit the proletariat.

China's official Ministry of Justice prison count (~1.69 million sentenced inmates) only counts convicted prisoners in formal state prisons.
Unlike the US, China relies extensively on administrative detention without judicial trial or formal criminal charges. The official numbers omit:
Pre-trial detention centers (Kฤnshวusuว - ็ๅฎๆ).
Black jails & Residential Surveillance at a Designated Location (RSDL): Used for extrajudicial detention of activists, lawyers, and whistleblowers.
Extrajudicial "Re-education" Camps: UN estimates and human rights organizations document that over 1 million Uyghurs and ethnic minorities in Xinjiang were held in mass internment camps without formal trials or court sentences.
When demographers and organizations like the World Prison Brief factor in China's pre-trial detainees, administrative detentions, and extrajudicial camps, Chinaโs total incarcerated/detained population reaches 2.3 to 3+ million people, surpassing the total US incarcerated population (roughly ~1.8 million in local jails and state/federal prisons).
Chinaโs conviction rate in criminal courts sits at over 99.9%. Citizens can be indefinitely detained for vague "political" or state-security charges like "picking quarrels and provoking trouble" (ๅฏป่ก
ๆปไบ), speaking out against local officials, practicing unauthorized religions, or possessing banned literature, all without independent judicial oversight.
The west is outpaced by China in: the green transition, (IEA) in industrial capacity (IMF) growth (Goldman) deploying innovation at scale (CSIS) automotive & chemical engineering (US NATIONAL REVIEW) 21st century tech, (Harvard's Belfer center) in high impct research (ASPI)

western analysts don't all agree that china is doing better societally and industrially as i've pointed out, china just knows how to fudges the numbers and has a more authoritarian state with which to do that.
China is able to take on projects that are not profitable which is why it is a superior project of political economy is why (in addition the vast mineral wealth of China) they are one of the only countries with rare earth mineral supply chains & requisite magnet technology

The majority of Chinaโs raw patent volume consists of short-term utility models and design patents, incentivized by local Chinese government subsidies that literally paid companies per patent application filed.
When measured by high-value global patents (triadic patent families filed simultaneously in the US, Europe, and Japan), the gap narrows dramatically. Furthermore, US patent eligibility standards require far higher technical thresholds than China's initial grant requirements.
China dominates shipbuilding (and heavy manufacturing) because the CCP heavily subsidizes low-margin, capital-intensive heavy industries to absorb excess labor and control maritime trade lanes, not because of market efficiency or higher living standards.
High-volume shipbuilding generates lower profit margins compared to high-margin intellectual property, software, medical technology, and advanced semiconductor design, where Western firms capture the vast majority of global value.
China State Railway Group carries over $800+ billion in debt. Outside of the heavily used Beijing-Shanghai corridor, most of the 30,000+ miles of high-speed rail run through underpopulated rural areas at massive operational losses.
Building unprofitable high-speed rail lines to pad GDP figures while 300 million rural migrant workers are legally denied urban healthcare and education under the Hukou system is a prime example of misallocating capital for political optics rather than human flourishing.
Which country has the most incarcerated people in the world? The US has 20% of the world's prisoners while only having 5% of global population
Replying to @JonathanTdotexe
in both countries, the proletariat are oppressed by the elite. they just use different political jargon to describe doing the same things. with that being said, china literally incarcerates political prisoners far more then is done in america. your so artistically obsessed with your preferred jargon that you have repeatedly ignored that china violates human rights far more then america does. you bring up ICE, which atleast aims to incarcerate illegal immigrants. china incarcerates political prisoners AND also has an equivalent of ICE called the National Immigration Administration, and its powers are vastly expanded due to china's total state security apparatus.
its actually incredible how much you don't know or don't care about the reality of what china actually is just to talk endlessly and naval gaze endlessly about abstractions that have no relevancy to the real world. china HAS to be better in your mind becuase it uses marxist jargon and your a marxist. thats literally all it boils down to.
The dictatorship or the proletariat was never supposed to be an instant feat & there were always going to be stages to socialism along the way to the dictatorship of the proletariat or what the modern analogue would be
China's political economy is the furthest progressed project

ok, so it sounds like china and america are more alike then you are admitting, which defies your argumentation that china, calling it self communist, is some guiding star that we should all celebrate.
scale, it's about proportions & directionality. Directionally China's situation is empirically, objectively, improving by the data. Even western analysts are forced to admit this across societal & industrial indicators China is at the forefront of the human enterprise
not the US
