It sucks there won’t be baseball for three nights but we’re getting the best two teams in the World Series. I cannot wait. Rays vs Brewers

What did Pat Narduzzi say that was wrong in regards to Penn State being in the top-25? They went 7-6 last year and lost a ton of their team. Brought in players from a mediocre Iowa State team and then all the sudden, they're preseason top-20? He's 100% right.

And i'm a big Matt Campbell fan. I thought after they swung and missed with tons of candidates, they lucked out and a got a really good coach. But Pat is 100% right whether you like him or not and I know many people around here don't like him. At least he's honest all the time.

This is what pisses me off the most about Mark. I hate Pirates ownership as much as anyone, but they are a shit franchise with dopey fans because we care and want them to win? We get you like hockey but you treat the Penguins different than any team in this town.
***t franchise w/dopey fans who cling to small moments because it’s all they got. I got Lemieux in G1, 1992. I got Gerrard against Olympiakos.

This can easily be fixed if they made one call. #JustSports
Nike missed earnings again this quarter. As a result, the stock has hit a new 10-year low and is now down 80% from its all-time high during COVID.

The Reds still owe Hayes $23 million dollars over the next three seasons through 2029. What were they thinking taking on 30+ million for a guy that clearly couldn't hit anymore? Pirates turned the traded Reds prospect into 1 1/2 years of Luke Weaver, too.
There has been 21,533 players since 1940 who have recorded 240 PA in a single season. Ke’Bryan Hayes ranks 21,531/21,533 in wRC+ with his 13 wRC+ mark in 2026. His .419 OPS ranks 21,530/21,533. Quite literally a bottom 3 offensive season, EVER.

I've seen so much criticism of this and I just don't get it. I love watching playoff baseball as my work day is winding down. It'll be awesome to get home at the tail end up game 1 with the second game starting. I think NBC staggering these with three games after 5pm is good.
The Wild Card schedule is here! #Postseason (MLB x @AbbVie)

Trust me. I wish the Pirates had the success Cleveland does in baseball. But in recent years it has much more to do with the division than anything else. Especially this year. The Pirates are better than the Guardians. The AL Central is a horrendous division. Good on them.
Cleveland is headed to the MLB postseason for the eighth time in 11 years. The Pirates have just their fifth winning season in 34 years. 125 miles apart on the Turnpike. A million miles apart in so many other ways.

The last time I can remember the Pirates had a pending free agent perform this well with fans clamoring for them to sign him was Francisco Liriano. He went on to get a 3-year, $39 million dollar contract in 2014. The same should be done with Brandon Lowe.

I kept this story in my pocket for a long time.... September 15th is Roberto Clemente Day. Every year in Pittsburgh the whole organization fans out across the city. It's like Christmas. Roberto's family is there, Vera and the boys. My first year as manager in Pittsburgh was 2011. We celebrated. We shook hands and moved on. We didn't win. 19 consecutive losing seasons. 2012 rolls around. Same day, same celebration. We had another losing season, our 20th consecutive. After the ceremony, Roberto Jr. walked over. "My mom wants to talk to you." We went into the dugout. Me, Vera, and her three sons. She spoke in Spanish. I played four years of winter ball so I understood enough. She wasn't angry, but she was passionate. And I kept hearing Roberto's number come up. Roberto Jr. translated. "My mother wants you to know that there cannot be a 21st losing season. That was Roberto's number. It would be a disgrace to his legacy." She was staring right at me. Before I could even think about what to say, words came out of my mouth: "I promise you, Vera. That won't happen." Roberto Jr. looked at me and said, "You made my mom a promise. I hope you can keep it." I said, "I hope I can keep it too." I didn't tell my coaches. I didn't tell the players. I told my wife. That was it. The next year, 2013, we broke the consecutive seasons losing streak. Ended it at 20. On Roberto Clemente Day that September, Vera came walking across that field. And I probably got one of the most meaningful hugs I've ever received in my life. The players did all the heavy lifting. I just got the hug. Some promises are worth making before you know if you can keep them. @Pirates

Rodgers is so well spoken and likable. I will never understand the hatred with him other than political/vaccine reasons from people.

Yes it’s 3:35 am and I stayed up to watch it. Glad I did. That was awesome. 🇺🇸
Whoever decided to put Shelton and Alcaraz second on Ashe tonight and then when Tiafoe was clearly making a comeback didn’t amend the schedule to move Pegula match to Armstrong deserves to be fired. This match starting after 11pm EST is a disaster for the USTA. What a joke.

Ive been talking about this for months and all I got from many Pitt fans/alums is that Pitt tickets are the cheapest tickets ever and to stop complaining. This is the exact reason I won't be going Saturday. Im not paying $50 to watch a MAC team.
How are the tarps and smaller capacity at Acrisure Stadium affecting Pitt football ticket prices this season? According to the school’s website. The cheapest ticket before fees. For the Miami Ohio season opener Saturday is $48. That’s interesting.

You’re a dude in your early 20s critiquing a Pittsburgh area icon in announcing, which is Paul Paterra? Who the hell do you think you are, Logan?
One of THE FIRST things I was taught in my sports announcing class was to avoid speculation. Screaming “THERE’S A SHOOTING” is a normal human reaction to have, but it’s not the appropriate response from the play-by-play announcer. There are parents, grandparents, family members watching/listening. This could provoke hundreds of panicked drivers arriving at the exact same time at the stadium, creating massive traffic jams. It also could block police cars, SWAT teams, and ambulances from getting into the venue to help + Frantic family members will immediately flood 911 dispatch lines with secondary calls asking for information. This ties up emergency operators who need to keep lines clear to receive critical, life-saving information Obviously, you can hear the noises and see the teams running off the field, but the play-by-play guy should just state exactly what is known. EX: “we could hear two loud noises and the teams and officials are clearing the field.” — then shut up and get to safety himself. Also, any time you speculate, you run the risk of being wrong. Imagine if the play-by-play guy was wrong about that, even though it seemed apparent that’s what was happening. It’s just not the way to approach it. Based off what I was taught… the broadcast production team should always be prepared as well to switch the camera feed away from active violence, panic, or injured individuals. Thankfully, police confirmed that no one was injured in this incident and it was a 17 year old that fired a shot with a stolen gun outside the stadium Friday night in South Allegheny.

Assuming the Pirates don't come back and win, they will now fall to 3-14 in Paul Skenes' last 17 starts. In those 17 games, the Pirates are averaging 4.23 runs per game. Sure, there are outliers on both sides of that. He simply has not been good enough.

Who doesn’t have Amazon Prime? I’m willing to bet more people have Prime than have Xfinity or Directv.
A entire conference finals not on cable TV is crazy
