where have I heard this before???
oh yeah...
Nov. 30, 2019: After Michigan lost 56–27 to Ohio State. Jim Harbaugh fell to 0–5 vs OSU
@JordanStrack - “Is it a talent gap, is it a preparation gap, a coaching gap? What is the biggest difference between you and Ohio State at this point?
Harbaugh – “I’ll answer your questions, but not your insults.”
Strack – “ That wasn’t an insult, you’ve given up 118 points in two years.
Harbaugh – “ They played really good, really good.”
Strack - “That’s why I’m asking, what’s the biggest difference in the gap between you guys.”
Harbaugh – “ They played good. Really good”
Q to Jim Harbaugh after he praised Justin Herbert's "warrior" play that he's been watching for two and a half years:
"Part of that is just him taking a ruthless beating because of, I don't know if it's the group in front of him, his protection, what's going on, but when you came here, your charge was to get him protected. Mike's [McDaniel] charge was to make sure he didn't have to be a superhero, but 2.5 years later, like you said, he still has to be a superhero for you guys to have a chance to win the game. Why is that?"
"Yeah, that just sounds more like an insult than it does a question, but if that's the way you look at it. I'm saying that it's the kind of competitor that he is where I've never seen him flinch. I've never seen him rattled. He's an amazing inspiration and that's what we do. We all feed off of that. I know the entire team does. And you ask me what gives me optimism, what gives me hope with this football team, because I see that throughout the entire team. And yeah, we attack, we improve, can't improve everything all at once, but we can improve one thing at a time, all the time. And that's what this team is doing.
"It wasn't insult. I'm just asking if it's the third season now and he's still among the most pressured and hit quarterbacks. I'm just asking you why that is?"
"I think I answered your question. I can answer it the same way."
"You can answer it the same way, but I don't think you answered it."
"I think I did."

A truly incredible and historic day in Toledo.
Vincent Mauri — a 25-year-old former college runner from Warren, Ohio — does not have a coach or a sponsor or even a long-distance pedigree. He had never run a half marathon, let alone a full one.
On a Sunday for the ages at the Glass City Marathon, he ran one of the greatest races in American history.
Mauri did not just break the GCM record by ... more than 13 minutes, or obliterate the Ohio marathon record, too. He became the fourth American ever to break 2:06.
"Honestly, I don't even know what to think yet."

Here’s the moment it became official at today’s @USGA annual meeting that @Inverness_Club would be hosting the 145th @usopengolf

This is a landmark moment for Inverness and the city of Toledo, an announcement decades in the making. It is the product of steady, purposeful leadership that rebuilt a fractured relationship with the USGA and restored confidence in one of America’s greatest major championship venues.
Many deserve credit for bringing the US Open back to Inverness. The hiring of former Oakmont superintendent John Zimmers was a coup that stunned observers in the golf industry. His expertise has elevated course conditions, and his familiarity with the USGA proved invaluable.
Inverness took a calculated risk on then-little-known architect Andrew Green to oversee a comprehensive restoration, returning the course to the vision of Donald Ross. The result not only revitalized Inverness but helped launch Green’s career, establishing him as one of the most sought-after architects in the game.
The club’s leadership played a critical role. Past president Jerry Lemieux – one of the USGA’s most respected rules officials – brought deep institutional relationships. Head pro JJ Weaver commands enormous respect within the game of golf. Judd Silverman, Richard Hylant and the Inverness team who successfully advocated for the Solheim Cup helped reintroduce the course to a global audience. And the city, led by Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz, demonstrated unequivocally that Toledo is worthy of hosting the US Open.
But make no mistake, this day would not have arrived without John Swigart. For the past decade, he made it his mission to return the US Open to Inverness. His leadership positioned the club and restored its standing among golf’s great cathedrals.
Behind the scenes, Swigart served as both strategist and ambassador, tirelessly and thoughtfully advocating for Inverness. His vision made a compelling case not only for the club but for northwest Ohio. Swigart has unlocked economic impact, global visibility and renewed civic pride.
HUGE news for Toledo: The U.S. Open is returning to Inverness.
The famed club has been awarded a sweeping slate of championships, headlined by the 2045 U.S. Open, The Blade has learned.
Will be announced today at USGA annual meeting in NYC. toledoblade.com/sports/golf/…
