I don’t particularly agree with some of his approach yesterday. But I will still die on the hill that Dionisi could have been a good coach for us if not for the dire squad situation. That first half yesterday was fine. We probably didn’t deserve to be 2-0 up but we were good. Particularly off the ball. Midfield dies off as you’d expect, injury to Mlacic was actually quite consequential. Who Dionisi called upon (and who he didn’t) told us a lot about who he feels is going to go out there and try to impose themselves on the game, and who’s not.
In the Pozzo era, in tier 2, Dionisi is statistically the worst head coach #watfordfc have had, comparing each’s first 13 league matches. Even Ed Still had 13 points at that stage to Dionisi's 11 points. Best was Muñoz with 26 points (Thanks @jonsinclair )

When that third goal in the look on his face said everything. Just sat there looking over at the fans in shame. Mattie has a tough job as captain. You can argue his level of play at points this season (like everyone) but his job is to lead a bunch of mercenaries. Him, Kyprianou, and Bola are pretty much the only players that are somewhat tied to the club beyond this year. Everyone else has an easy exit or is already set to depart. Leading by example (his intent is consistent) can only do so much.
Please don’t blame Matty Pollock at least you can visually see that he cares deeply. #watfordfc

Obviously not the biggest problem today, but I was really disappointed with Diatta today. Gave us not of that edge you’d expect to get from him at right Wing Back. Jamal Lewis performance.

Watford snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. A tale as old as time.

Payero/Kayembe are dead on their feet. Midfield battle is essentially over. Supremacy for Norwich.

Traore and Keben at outside CB, Pollock still on the pitch by a thread. Terrifying.

Just suicidal football there. In terms of game management, this is an all time low.

Ouch.
Looking for more turnovers with our wingbacks up this high. Norwich don’t seem particularly comfortable playing through their backline at the minute. If they go long there’s not much margin for error for Keben/Mlacic though..

Kyprianou stepping up to close the #6 at times there too. High risk/High reward.

I’ve done pretty well with results when I’ve come back to visit, have a feeling this one might change my fortunes.. Regardless, looking forward to seeing a few of you there. Up the Orns 🐝

A pretty unsustainable opening 30. Hanging in there with little threat if we do get past the half way line. There will have to be a change at half time, sleep walking to a 3-0 loss.

“It lost everyone!” In our recent pod with @T_Deeney, our former captain pinpoints the start of Watford’s decline under Gino Pozzo... 📉

Can tell from the reaction to that second goal what the players think of Dionisi. They’re behind him, let’s see if the owner is. Good win, up the Orns, Pozzo out. 🐝
A deserved W to start the weekend 👏🐝

Great ball from Vata and very tidy finish. Deserved that, second half could have been 2-3 more.
JZ to round things off! 🤩

Calf injury for Bravo. A little surprised he played 85 after Dionisi’s comments. Hopefully minor.
