Democrats are facing a dilemma: The left has the passion, but the middle still has the votes the party needs to win in general elections. To win, Democrats don’t need to move left on economics. They need to move to the center on cultural issues. My take:

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

🎬 This is how America wins the critical minerals race. Top Admin officials and bipartisan Members of Congress—alongside business, military, and humanitarian leaders—made clear: international assistance is "critical" to our strategy. China dominates a supply chain tied to $4T of U.S. economic activity, but winning will take more than mining—smart, targeted "wrap-around" investments create the win-win conditions that enable these projects to succeed and protect America's security and economic interests. “This isn’t a partisan issue — it’s a national security issue.” @RepBrianMast, @RepAmiBera, @RepYoungKim, and Admin officials agreed: the U.S. needs every tool we have — including international assistance — to win the critical minerals race.👇 usglc.org/newsroom/bipartisa…

“So when I got elected to Congress, I said to myself: I’m going to figure out how no other child ever goes to war.” @RepLoisFrankel reflected on the fear she carried while her son served in Iraq and Afghanistan — and how her experience as a Marine mom pushed her to serve on the Foreign Affairs Committee and now Appropriations to protect America's future. Her story captures the core of USGLC’s mission: America’s diplomatic and development toolkit helps keep our troops — sons and daughters — out of harm’s way. USGLC's new initiative, The Road to a Safer, Stronger, and More Prosperous America, lays out how dogged diplomacy and strategic international assistance strengthen our security and prosperity — preventing costly wars, stopping threats before they reach our shores, saving lives, and advancing our interests around the world. This is America’s humanitarian leadership in action. When the U.S. leads with strength and generosity, we save lives, accelerate recovery, and demonstrate why strategic investments in development and diplomacy make America safer and stronger. 🇺🇸🌎
In response to catastrophic damage caused by Hurricane Melissa in many Caribbean countries, @StateDept is deploying a regional Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) and activated US-based Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) teams to bolster response efforts.   These teams are working with affected countries and local communities to determine what assistance is needed and with interagency, international, and U.S. military partners to coordinate emergency response efforts.

🙌 “@TheFP uncovered an America hiding in plain sight... People who believe that curiosity is a virtue and who crave common sense in a world that feels upside down. People who resist the warmth of political tribalism even as they seek community with one another.” -@bariweiss

I didn’t know Charlie Kirk, but I do know that there is no place for this despicable violence in our political discourse. I came to Washington when Rs and Ds battled it out on the floor of Congress by day and dined together at night. This is horrific and I pray for his young family.

He was fiercely generous, tough, and perpetually optimistic about our ability to shape a better future. In his memoir, “Everything is Possible,” he wrote that “the purpose of life is… to live; to love; to do good; and to be happy.” Danny, thank you for shaping my life.
We mourn the passing of Dan Abraham. He was a WWII veteran, philanthropist, and tireless champion for peace. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the progress he inspired. May his memory be a blessing.
