Why don't you just come out and say, "93% of companies that begin with 'S' and buy Bitcoin"?
Daily dividends would give Strategy ~93% of the market, strengthening our competitive advantage and capital structure. $MSTR shareholders: Vote now.

Comparing STRD to SATS is no trivial task. STRD is subordinate to all of Strategy's convertible bonds, then STRF, STRC, STRK, and STRE whereas SATS is subordinate only to SATA. And additional issuance of SATA is restricted by price-based issuance rules. $ASST $MSTR

Interestingly enough, when you compare the duration of a perpetuity to that of a 50 year bond, it's negligible because the cash flows beyond 50 years are so heavily discounted, and duration is simply the present-value-weighted-average time to receipt of cash flows. The variable rate nature of SATA significantly shortens the duration and fixing that dividend (SATS) significantly lengthens duration. Long duration fixed income is not a niche market. @ColeMacro @Werkman

A few commenters have raised concerns about $SATS, specifically the possibility that the company could issue additional shares below the original IPO price at some point in the future. This is worth a brief discussion of forward pricing and total return. Consider a simple example: an investor buys the security at $100 and it pays a $15 annual dividend. One year later, even if the company has issued new shares at $90, the IPO investor is still ahead. They have collected $15 in dividends and can sell their shares in the open market at the prevailing $90 price, resulting in a net positive outcome on a total-return basis. After a second year, the cumulative $30 in dividends provides an even larger cushion against any price decline. This calculation also ignores the powerful effect of compounding when dividends are reinvested daily, an advantage that further improves the investor’s long-term position and is not captured in this simple comparison.

27 months later, Strive is getting into the same trade 🤣 (Back then I was literally buying BTC perps and shorting an altcoin perp called SATS) ... A friend found this and just put it back on my timeline. I miss those old days when I was long BTC on 150 times leverage.

Now SATS? Same tiles.
Sometimes I think that @ColeMacro was playing Scrabble the day that he came up with ticker symbols and he had to get rid of a lot of A's and S's and T's $ASST $SATA

I just heard about this from @GrainofSaltSF! At first glance, it seems this change would take a lot of pressure off SATA, as it will no longer bear sole responsibility for providing amplification. It’s like intercepting a pass that would normally go to the fixed income market. Many in that market tend to avoid variable rate investments. Strive’s commitment to never issue SATA below $100, combined with the added flexibility to sell this new security at any price/yield the market offers, will give them the ability to buy Bitcoin during turbulent times. I honestly still think of STRF as a future AAA rated security (after all the convertibles are gone). By that token, SATS would A rated and the yield pickup seems pretty juicy to me.
Strive is offering $SATS through an IPO available to select investors. - 15% fixed-rate perpetual preferred stock - Cumulative dividends paid every business day - Junior to SATA INVESTOR PRESENTATION TIMESTAMPS 00:00 - Introducing SATS 01:46 - Executive Summary 18:50 - SATS Improves SATA 21:06 - Dividend and Balance Sheet Strength 27:33 - Performance and Liquidity 30:48 - Bitcoin Thesis 40:26 - Amplification and Risk $SATS $ASST $SATA

To expound on @TimmerFidelity’s point that “the stock market’s intrinsic value is the present value of future cash flows,” I’d add that earnings are seen as future cash flows because they ultimately flow into the balance sheet or get distributed as dividends to shareholders.
It’s ironic that we have reached this bull market milestone even though the driver of the last bear market (rising real rates) is ongoing, with real yields now above trend real-GDP growth. Thank you, earnings, for saving the day from what otherwise could have been a repeat of the 2022 bear. Maybe that’s still coming if earnings growth decides to peak here, but for now, it’s only an echo or aftershock. Per the DCF model, the stock market’s intrinsic value is the present value of future cashflows. If the numerator (cashflows) grows and the denominator (cost of capital) is benign, the present value rises and vice versa. But today we have both sides of the formula in opposition to each other. Fortunately, earnings are growing faster than the P/E-multiple is falling, and this has kept the price
