Tuesday night in college hoops always delivers. Saturdays are almost TOO much. Mondays and Fridays are always lacking. Thursdays are mostly irrelevant (GEE THANKS PAC-12). But we've had like 8 straight Tuesdays with 10-15 solid games for a "first Thursday of the tourney" vibe.

Arkansas was #11 in adjusted defensive efficiency last year. #3 thus far this year. Creighton just shot 58% against this defense (50% from 3) -- 1.189 points per possession.

This thread is precisely why we don’t expand the ncaa tournament. Coaches that shut this down should be embarrassed.
CBB fans may remember this story from May. The idea: Pit 200+ teams across the U.S. against each other in mid-Feb, after the Super Bowl. In late Jan., metrics determine matchups for noncon week of games. Unfortunately, the idea is dead (for now). The reason: skittish coaches. A🧵

Now that Walker Kessler, Mark Williams and Christian Koloko are all officially declared for the NBA Draft here’s a look at how their final season stats compare since they are often discussed together as multi-year college players within the play finisher/rim protector archetype.

With Nebraska losing to Northwestern in the first round of the Big 10 Tournament, that puts a wrap on what has been a fantastic freshman season for Bryce McGowens in terms of free throw production. The ability to draw fouls is overlooked at times, but it’s an important indicator.

Patrick Baldwin Jr. is shooting 9-34 (26.5%) since returning to Milwaukee’s lineup 3 games ago & is 45-131 (34.4%) in his 11 total games. He has 6 regular season games left starting tonight vs. Wright State, but he’s been historically inefficient for an NBA draft prospect so far.
Keegan Murray’s numbers have been insane all year, but I wanted to wait until Iowa’s season was finished to discuss just how historic he was in 2021-22. What he did is essentially unprecedented since we have quality college basketball advanced stats available. A thread:

We had @Josh_markowitz breakdown where the NCAA Tournament bracket seeding differed from the favorite for each opening matchup. Memphis isn't a surprise but what other lower seeds are favored? #8 Boise State +125 #9 Memphis -145 Full List: betcarolina.com/college-bask…

This is a great visual of what teams have the most value according to our metrics, compared to what people are picking in their brackets.
Who is Everyone Picking? Of course there is more than one prediction system and @EvanMiya runs one of the best -- sim your own bracket at evanmiya.com Evan's numbers suggest there is value in: 1st Round? Jackrabbits & Catamounts F4? Nova, Purdue Champ? KU

There's so much to like about Justin Patton, but how about this: A lefty skip-pass? 1. Not many bigs see that. 2. That's not an easy pass.
