“It is often said that the divided state of Christendom is an evil, and so it is. But the evil consists in the existence of the errors which cause the divisions and not at all in the recognition of those errors when once they exist” - J. Gresham Machen

When Paul moves to describe the hope that is laid up for you in Heaven (1:5), the hope of the Gospel (1:23), and the hope of glory (1:27), he composes the most exalted Christology in all the Bible (1:15-20). If Jesus is your hope, you won’t be let down. #MeditationsonColossians1
God-dependent believers will demonstrate the effective power of the Gospel through fruit-filled, God-informed, divinely-enabled, and thankful lives! Col. 1:9-14 #MeditationsonColossians
Christians must pray and ask God to help them discern His will for each moment and then enable them to do it. Col. 1:9-10 #MeditationsonColossians1
Present faith in future hope produces fruit-filled, growing Christians whose love for others is self-evident. Col. 1:3-8 #MeditationsonColossians1

Hope: when your daily expectations are connected to what is provided to you in Jesus Christ not to what this earthly existence promises. “When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” #MeditationsonColossians
A surprisingly delicious thread.
Hope in future grace and glory provides grace-filled motivation for doing the right things in the present time! Our Hope needs to be set every day on Jesus and not on things connected to this earth. #Colossians1 #hope

When we see the holiness of God, loathe our sinfulness, and receive His cleansing, our response should be, "Here am I send me." #Is6
Our most effective evangelism may be while in the deepest of trials. When we are down, God's faithfulness can shine in us the brightest#Ps40
"Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might." Endurance takes supernatural power. Put on all of God's armor. #Ephesians6:10-120
Often the reason we don't engage our neighbors with the Gospel is because we are not abstaining from fleshly living ourselves. #1Pet.2:11-12
