This is the Adagio movement from J. S. Bachโs Violin Concerto in E Major, BWV 1042, performed by violinist Shunske Sato and the Netherlands Bach Society as part of the All of Bach project. The performance uses period instruments and follows a historically informed performance approach, aiming to recreate the sound and style of Bachโs time as closely as possible.
Of the more than 1,500 works Bach composed, only three violin concertos have survived to the present day. He likely composed others, but they were lost over time.
In the case of BWV 1042, both the original score and all the original instrumental parts have been lost. The oldest surviving handwritten copy dates from 1760 and was made by Johann Friedrich Hering, a copyist who had worked for Bach.
Considered one of Bachโs best-known violin concertos, BWV 1042 consists of three movements: Allegro, Adagio, and Allegro assai, following the fast-slow-fast structure characteristic of the Italian concerto tradition. The Adagio stands out for its expressive, contemplative melody, creating a deeply moving and introspective musical atmosphere.
Do you think this Adagio is one of the most beautiful melodies youโve ever heard?

So true! Itโs not easy to define, but schools do have a โfeelโ. And yes, administrators set the tone. ๐ฏ. @MOASSP @swMoASSP @ilprincipals @DrBradJohnson
Well said, @DrBradJohnson I like to ask teachers, โHow do students know you like what you do?โ Then I ask site administrators, โHow do students, families, and staff know you like what you do?โ Simple questions that deserve reflection and answers.
Educating everyone is no longer one size fits all. The challenges & rewards of public education are plenty- and itโs all worth it. Please take time today read the words of Dr. Pearlman. SoWorthIt. @ilprincipals @MOASSP
Supporting a student with challenging behaviors isnโt about choosing one philosophyโitโs about pulling the best tools from many. A Maslow Before Bloom lens reminds us to meet basic needs first; Love and Logic teaches us to set firm limits with empathy; The 7 Habits guide students to pause, reflect, and make proactive choices; Boys Town provides the explicit social skills they were never taught; trauma-informed practices help us see the pain beneath the behavior; and restorative approaches help repair the harm and rebuild trust.
When a student like James storms out of class and slams the door, itโs not one program that helpsโitโs the combination: noticing he skipped breakfast (Maslow), calmly offering choices instead of consequences (Love and Logic), helping him identify a better next step (7 Habits), reteaching the replacement skill of leaving appropriately (Boys Town), acknowledging the stress he carries from home (trauma-informed), and guiding him to make things right with peers and staff (restorative).
The magic happens when we stop looking for the strategy and start using every strategy that helps a child feel safe, capable, and ready to grow.
Teachers - how do students know you like what you do? Admins - how do teachers know you like what you do? #ItMattersEveryDay @MOASSP @ilprincipals

Work the problem. Good words for educators to live by. Negativity may provide temporary emotional release. Just remember - itโs temporary and should be followed with reflective problem solving. #Teamwork @MOASSP @ilprincipals @SteeleThoughts
Absolutely!! Students of all ages need to leave class feeling better about themselves - not worse. Same for staff after a faculty meeting. ๐๐#LeadershipMatters. @ilprincipals @MOASSP
