Whoever was responsible for a window display as nauseous as this has to be a borderline psychopath. Imagine taking sick pride in reminding people that the pork, bacon & ham products on sale were previously a mother nursing her babies – until their trip to the slaughterhouse 💔
If you saw this despicable display in the window of your local grocery store, how would you feel? 😡

Michael Vick is trending. I am glad it isn't for more animal cruelty. I will never forget his involvement with dog fighting. He lost me as a fan.

She was bought and sold seven times in just three months. Years later, she stood before the United Nations and made the world face what had happened to her. At 25, she became a Nobel Peace Prize winner. August 3, 2014. Kocho, Iraq. Nadia Murad was 21 when ISIS surrounded her Yazidi village. What happened next was genocide. Men and boys were taken away and executed. Six of Nadia’s brothers were killed. Her mother was murdered and buried in a mass grave. Nadia was taken to Mosul. To her captors, she was no longer a person. She was property. She was bought, sold, and traded seven times in just 90 days. She was beaten, burned, and repeatedly sexually assaulted. At one point, Nadia tried to escape. She was caught. The punishment was horrific. Six men raped her until she lost consciousness. She was beaten so badly that she could barely walk. Her captors wanted to break her spirit. They didn’t. In November 2014, Nadia noticed an unlocked door. She ran. A local Muslim family took an enormous risk by hiding her and helping her get out of ISIS-controlled territory. Eventually, she reached a refugee camp. Then she made it to Germany. For the first time in months, she was free. She could have chosen to disappear and build a quiet life somewhere far from the attention. Instead, she decided to speak. In December 2015, Nadia stood before the United Nations Security Council. She was 22 years old. She spoke about girls being sold like cattle, mothers being murdered, and an entire culture being deliberately destroyed. The world listened. In 2016, the United Nations formally recognized the genocide against the Yazidi people. But Nadia wasn’t finished. She turned what had happened to her into a fight for others. In 2018, she founded Nadia’s Initiative, working to rebuild villages, schools, and clinics while helping survivors pursue justice. That same year, at just 25, Nadia became the first Iraqi woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. The world celebrated her. But Nadia’s attention remained on the people who were still missing and those who were still being held captive. For her, that was the prize that truly mattered. Their freedom. She continues to speak for the thousands who were killed and for those whose fate remains unknown. Every time she tells her story, she has to carry the pain all over again. But she knows what silence can cost. Nadia turned suffering into purpose. Trauma into testimony. Survival into a demand for justice. ISIS tried to strip her of her identity and reduce her to property. History remembers her by her name. Nadia Murad. Not simply because she escaped. But because she survived, stood before the world, and refused to let silence have the final word.

Yet again, a suspended sentence for an animal abuser 😡 CONVICTED | He Chased, Beat And Stamped On Defenceless Ducks While His Friends Laughed — Then Posted It On Snapchat Owen Rayner, 20, of Staincross, Barnsley, chased three Mallard ducks around a lakeside, struck them repeatedly with a large stick and stamped on at least three of them as they desperately tried to flee. Two older teenagers watched and laughed as it happened. Rayner filmed it and posted it on Snapchat. RSPCA Inspector Keith Hogben — a man with 27 years of experience — described it as one of the worst deliberate acts of cruelty on innocent defenceless animals he had ever witnessed. He said the fact those involved were laughing as they carried out the attack showed how little respect they had for living creatures. Rayner admitted an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 for intentionally killing or causing injury to three ducks. The court heard the attack was deliberate, prolonged and carried out purely for amusement. He was sentenced to an 18-week suspended prison sentence, 150 hours unpaid work and over £500 in fines and costs. Ducks feel pain and fear just like any other living creature. They were chased, beaten and stamped on for entertainment. And once again — no prison time. 😡😡 Credit: UK Crime Watch.

The best mayor ever. @RudyGiuliani has deep respect & reverence for the 9/11 families. The grief & pain does not subside after 25 years. Rudy pulled us out of the depths of despair in NYC after 9/11. Thank you for your service. God bless.
President Trump reacts to video showing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani appearing to laugh during the 9/11 memorial ceremony at Ground Zero. Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One in Ireland for his return to the U.S., Trump called the moment "terrible." "The fact that they were laughing together at a very important part of the ceremony was inappropriate."

I went to jail and was convicted of a felony to expose this abominable system. Because powerful people don't want you to know how animals are treated. They don't want you to know what they're calling "cage free" and "humane."

The NYPD arbitrarily denies religious accommodations to Catholic officers. See NYPD religious accommodation requests during NYC’s COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate. Historically the NYPD approves 96% of Religious Accommodation Requests during that time it only approved less than 6% of Religious Accommodations Requests. Overwhelming Male, White Officers, Catholic officers were denied. Immediately following NYC’s COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate the NYPD’s approval rate for approving religious accommodations rose back to 96%. According to state law “an employer must grant a reasonable religious accommodation” unless the request causes an undue hardship for the employer. The NYPD allows Muslim officers to pray as many times as necessary during their tour but denied allowing Male, White Catholic officers who were previously infected in the line of duty with COVID-19 to remain employed unless they submitted to taking an non fda approved vaccine against medical advice. What would happen if Catholic officers submitted religious accommodation requests to pray for one hour each day on duty on top of their meal ?

California Governor Gavin Newsom is set to sign legislation recognizing two Muslim holidays, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, as state holidays and allowing public schools to celebrate their significance. There are over 12 million Catholics in California, yet schools have no similar authorization to celebrate the religious significance of Christmas, Easter or Good Friday.

Two days after shooting up a restaurant in Brooklyn, the same repeat offender came to the Bronx, shot and killed a customer, and emptied the register. It doesn’t have to be this way.

More than 50 sloths died at an Orlando tourist attraction that never opened to the public. Last week, Florida officials closed the criminal investigation and pressed no charges. Sloth World was supposed to be an interactive attraction on International Drive where you could hold a sloth. To stock it, the company imported animals caught in the wild in Guyana and Peru. The first shipment arrived at a facility with no running water and no electricity. The space heaters meant to keep them warm failed, leaving tropical animals in the Florida cold for at least one night in December 2024. Between March and April, the number of living sloths in the company's care went from 26 to 13. The sheriff's report describes emaciated, dehydrated animals. One frothing at the mouth. One that had been lying on the ground for two days, covered in its own feces. The curator who helped move the survivors to the Central Florida Zoo said she saw no food and no water anywhere in the building. A veterinarian told the state the company expanded faster than it could handle disease, and was dosing sick sloths with Pedialyte. 55 died, only 13 made it out alive. The Orange County Sheriff's Office concluded there was no crime because nothing that happened cleared the legal bar for criminal neglect in Florida. A state representative put it about as plainly as it can be put: when a facility can be in full compliance with every applicable standard and animals still die by the dozens, the standards are the problem. Compliance is not the same as care. Florida now requires a special permit to import sloths. Orange County commissioners are weighing a ban on using exotic wildlife for commercial entertainment. 55 wild animals were pulled out of a rainforest, shipped across an ocean, and died in a warehouse for an attraction that never opened its doors. And under the law as written, nobody did anything wrong.
