Hi! Name's Lucile, I've been working in the games industry for 18+ years, 10 of which as a freelance translator and L10N consultant. Here are some of my credited projects! #MeetTheTranslator
Scroll down to find most of the #gameloc-related threads I've published over the years:
Lifehack: To avoid digging through mountains of slop, look up which demos are localized by professionals. When it comes to cutting corners with AI, translation is usually #1 on the list, so if it's done properly, you can be sure there's little to no slop in the code/art/etc.
Next Fest is back, with a new and improved UI for all your browsing needs! From now until October 26th, check out thousands (literally) of demos for games of all types - from frantic cooking typers to frozen railway games, there's something for everyone.

Since this is doing numbers for some reason, if you're interested in getting your game a proper loc, here are some free resources:
- Gameloc Agency Directory: locdandloaded.net/2020/10/22…
- Portfolio Directory: locdandloaded.net/2026/08/31…
Following the success of the Gameloc Portfolio Directory, I'm happy to announce a new partnership with Websites for Translators (@wwwforxl8)!
Enjoy a 5% discount on your entire order by following the link at the bottom of the directory and support Loc'd and Loaded ✨
Happy to introduce the Gameloc Portfolio Directory on Loc'd and Loaded! Much like its Agency counterpart, this project allows translators working in games, manga, anime etc. to showcase their portfolios, free of algorithmic biases: locdandloaded.net/2026/08/31…

After a lot of systems architecture bullshit, there is finally language switching in Esoteric Ebb. Only available on the Open Beta Localization Branch for now, but feel free to test it out!
Man, that was a lot harder than I anticipated. Here are 9 games that shaped me!
Notable missing mentions:
- Sonic Adventure 2
- Warcraft 3
- Pokemon R/B
- Hades I & II
- Mouthwashing...

It's been ages since I did any Flutter development... always wanted to try out OpenCV for something fun, so I cobbled together a CyberpunkTCG card scanner for personal use, inspired by my favourite Magic card collecting app @ManaBoxApp

One of my faves of all time - a masterclass in localization
Ya Boy Kongming ep 6 features a rap battle with about 192 bars ((2x16x3)x2 [overtime]). I've translated 200+ eps of anime, and I spent far longer on this than any other. It was a great challenge and creative exercise. Enjoy! #AmTranslating

Lifetime award achievement unlocked 🏆 I've been featured in Vladimir Sechkarev's new #gameloc book, "Искусство утраты. Трудности перевода и локализации в игровой индустрии", loosely translated as "The Art of Losing: Translation and localization in the video game industry"!
This book covers a wide variety of gameloc topics across 320 pages, from the primordial chaos of the 90s to the present day, as well as in-depth case studies. A treasure trove of information for anyone interested in the topic!
