From distributed fiber-optic sensing across transoceanic distances to DSP-enabled coherent optical systems, their work is advancing what's possible for optical networks.

Existing telco networks were designed to connect people. The next job is connecting intelligence: sensing the physical world and acting on it in real time. That needs the RAN to move from fixed-function hardware to being software-defined and capable of leveraging accelerated compute.
A year into our partnership with @nvidia, it’s starting: the first AI-RAN call on a live commercial network with @TMobile , Europe’s first field trial with @ElisaOyj , and 20%+ spectral efficiency gains already and on track for 100%.

Together with @TMobile, we have completed the world’s first live voice call over AI-RAN on their network in Seattle.
AI-native mobile networks that can sense, decide and act are proving they can also run today’s voice and data traffic more efficiently.
Legacy architectures simply cannot compete.
