A bounded landscape, built slowly through structure, pressure, erosion, and time.

The first four paintings of Data Becoming Form established the series' foundation. Now I'm extending that investigation through high-fidelity digital drawings at 12,000 × 9,000 pixels, exploring greater spatial complexity, texture, and detail.
When Detail Becomes Structure.
Two new drawings from Data Becoming Form: 453820 and 831849.
Built from verified Bitcoin block data and developed at 12,000 × 9,000 pixels, where intricate marks become structures within the landscape.
Limited-edition fine-art prints, up to 30 × 40 inches.

A detail from 831849, my new digital drawing within Data Becoming Form.
Working through drawing, I explore how constructed systems become part of a landscape, shaping its structure.
The complete drawing is developed at 12,000 × 9,000 pixels, allowing close attention to detail and large-scale print presentation.
This is a teaser showing only a portion of the artwork.

Working in a 12K high-fidelity digital drawing changed how I think about the image.
From a distance, it reads as landscape. Up close, it breaks into line systems, textures, revisions, and accumulated decisions.
A major moment for digital art at LACMA.
We're announcing a landmark gift of more than 200 works of digital art, spanning early computer-generated works to contemporary experiments with AI.
Led by LACMA Digital Leaders, the gift includes works by @RefikAnadol, @REAS, @luyangasia, and many more, bringing new perspectives on the intersection of art and technology into our collection. bit.ly/3VOeUPH
At this scale, texture is not decoration. Small marks, overlaps, and irregularities begin to carry structure.
I’m building the surface slowly so the image can hold detail without losing the larger form.
Still very much in progress.
Working through the drawing stage today.
Still figuring out which parts of the structure need to stay and which can be pushed further.
