Today I visited the radiotherapy department at @nottmhospitals and met with the staff. Nearly 40% of UK patients referred for cancer treatment wait two months or more. These delays can be life-threatening. Investing in staff recruitment and retention is key to saving lives.

🚨AHPs🚨Anyone else feel this NHS consultation on a national uniform is insulting? They appear to suggest all 14 AHP roles should be lumped together in four uniforms. Nurses are considered worthy of eight different roles, whereas we are one! Please Respond! @SCoRMembers

Crucial that we adopt this updated guidance nationally. My dissertation only a couple of years ago showed there’s a lot of variation in practice even between a select few RT departments. Our advice should ALWAYS be evidence based.
Professor Heidi Probst presenting the updates on skin care guidance for radiotherapy patients at our research seminar @HeidiProbst @SHURadiography
What a fab and patient-conscious idea! More departments should be considering alternatives like this 💫

Replying to @simonpowell213
Absolutely. It’s frustrating when the curriculum focuses on gamma radiation and little emphasis is placed on external beam Radiotherapy and brachytherapy.
