Working on something VERY cozy for you all this morning. Any guesses what this cozy scene will be used for?
Rare sighting of my cat, Lovebug. I see her maybe once or twice a month. She hides in the walls of our old farmhouse and only comes out to see my wife when nobody else is home. Found her in our woodshed 20 years ago. Never seen a live mouse in this house, either.
We visit the Polar Caves in New Hampshire almost every summer and somehow I never gave much thought to the 80 ton boulder hanging over our heads. Well… it came down this week after more than a century at the park. 😳
Looking back at these photos of Sarah and Harry underneath it gives me a little chill! Thank God it stayed put while we were there and thank God no one was hurt when it fell. So many happy family memories here. Just looking at this particular photo a little differently now!
Father & son Zelda Master Swords, handmade by @TheMiddleborne. Hickory blades, blue suede handles and a hand-carved walnut guard on mine. He started making swords for his own kids and turned it into a family business.
I would have lost my mind over these as a kid. As an adult, I’m having the time of my life having sword fights with Harry in the yard and pretending we’re off on an adventure through Hyrule.

Most of the hills are now bereft of the foliage that stole our hearts so thoroughly just 2 weeks ago. But the mountains are still blue, the evergreens are still green, and there are still a few lone hardwoods, here and there, insisting on a final brilliant display of color before winter begins in earnest. New Hampshire is resplendent.
Meet Miss Blue, the newest member of the family. My wife Sarah keeps reminding me and Harry that she’s not for eating 😩🦃

Love it! 3 miles above neuschwanstein castle
Love my trusty hiking horsebit loafers. Have climbed over three dozen mountains in New Hampshire in these, through mud and woods, over granite and rivers. No socks and never a blister. Just wearing them the way they were built to be worn.

Day in the life of a nature photographer: always bring a friend when you’re moose scouting so they can take incredible action shots from another canoe! Thanks Nate! Can’t wait to see the full-resolution pics. Sometimes these adventures in New Hampshire feel like being in a painting. I will never take this way of life for granted.
