As I told @HuffPost: One reason why age bias continues into middle & older ages for women: "As they grow older and more mature in their careers, [women] lose some of the fear of speaking their mind. And certain men don’t like that." @monicatorrr huffpost.com/entry/age-discr…

Teachers draw envy and ire over their two-month ‘vacations.’ But do they really get the summer off? Summer months off may not be the perk you think it is. For many teachers, it’s a time for courses, prepping lesson plans and learning new curriculums. trib.al/DKdpjXc

Yes!! 👏👇 @Irek_K @BrianMasseMP @FP_Champagne @CIHR_IRSC funding rates are less than 20% with budgets slashed. Data shows that patients have better outcomes if treated in an institution conducting research! This fall research has to be made a priority - Canada is falling behind – at Amherstburg, Ontario

John Dewey once stated, “We do not learn from experience... we learn from reflecting on experience.” If it's hard to fit reflection into your busy school-year schedule, give it a try this summer. ☀️ edutopia.org/article/consist…

I love this strategy for all grades and levels. The why isn't always so obvious in our rules
"I feel it’s so important to talk about WHY we expect certain behaviors at school. I made the anchor chart and then we came together and brainstormed examples of when we are expected to be quiet vs talk," third-grade teacher Jenna Monty, who was inspired by @room213tpt, writes.

While we can’t see this adorable little waitress’ writing - which almost certainly isn’t yet conventional - we still know what it says: pasta and orange juice. She’s already learned one of literacy’s earliest lessons, that print conveys meaning. Great to see her incorporating authentic literacy into her imaginary play.
