The DTCC Tokenization Service is live on @CantonNetwork.
Today’s launch caps a path that started with a December 2025 No-Action Letter from the SEC, authorizing DTC to tokenize Russell 1000 constituents, major-index ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries.
In July, more than 30 TradFi and digital-asset firms validated the service on Canton, setting up today’s full production launch.
DTC is now minting tokenized representations of those securities, with 21 DTC Participants live at launch, including Citadel Securities, J.P. Morgan Securities, Morgan Stanley, State Street, UBS, and Vanguard. It’s a foundational step in bringing capital markets and the broader financial ecosystem onchain on Canton Network.

The first big agentic finance incident will not be a rogue AI.
It will be an agent holding authority it should no longer have, buying something it was never permitted to hold, and nobody able to prove afterwards who authorised what.
Not an alignment failure. A plumbing failure.

A tokenized bond does not know who is allowed to own it.
Every holding rule lives in an allowlist run by whoever operates the venue.
Allowlists do not travel.
So the asset is liquid in exactly one place. Which is another way of saying it is not.
