Thank you for you invitation and advocacy for Frederick Classical Charter School, Ionie A. Martin. I enjoyed meeting with Principal Conroy and Vice Principal Kenny as well as touring the classrooms. – at Frederick, MD
The final keynote speaker, Richard Montañez: The Antidote to Fear Is Hunger. He's the subject of the film "Flamin' Hot". Very funny while making his point. "All you need is a revelation to lead to a revolution." – at New Orleans, LA
I wasn't sure what Timothy Shriver would be talking about, but found it to be an excellent topic - The Dignity Index. It gives one hope that things can improve with strategies, education, and a concerted effort. – at New Orleans, LA
The best part of the NSBA Annual Conference - the student performances. Dance team from High Tech HS, Secaucus, New Jersey. Very dramatic performances. – at New Orleans, LA
This group was outstanding! They performed highlights from a PG version of "Six". I need to find the name and update this post. – at New Orleans, LA
Listening to Ruby Bridges tell her story. We've come so far, yet not far enough. – at New Orleans, LA
At the National Civics Bee hosted by the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce. These middle school students are impressive. Local businesses provided some great prizes. The cash prizes for the three finalists were from a National Chamber of Commerce grant. – at Frederick, MD
The FCPS Science and Social Studies Fairs took place at THS. The knowledge, preparation, and enthusiasm was electric. Thank you to everyone for the hours that went into putting on such a great event! – at Green Valley, MD
At the well-attended County Executive's final public budget hearing. Many here "wearing red for Ed" to advocate for fully funding the @FCPS FY25 budget. – at Frederick, MD
