75 YEARS. 554 YARDS. ONE KAPPA SIGMA. 🏈
Did you know that a Kappa Sigma Brother holds one of the NFL’s longest-standing records?
On September 28, 1951, Brother Norm Van Brocklin (Gamma-Alpha, University of Oregon, ’46) threw for an astonishing 554 yards and five touchdowns as the Los Angeles Rams defeated the New York Yanks 54-14.
75 years later, despite generations of legendary quarterbacks and the evolution of the modern passing game, his record STILL stands.
Brother Van Brocklin went on to win two NFL Championships, earn nine Pro Bowl selections, and receive NFL MVP honors in 1960. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971.
From the University of Oregon to the NFL record books, Brother Van Brocklin’s legacy remains one of the greatest in football history.
A record for the ages held by a Kappa Sigma Brother.

The Epsilon-Chi Chapter has officially returned to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette!

The installation was attended by Worthy Grand Treasurer Lionel L. de la Houssaye, Jr., Area Recruitment Manager Alex Zulueta, Bayou West District Grand Master Matthew Griffiths, and Epsilon-Chi alumnus and Alumnus Advisor Travis Callais.
A special thank you to Brother Kristian Griffiths for coordinating the Ritual teams and to the Brothers of the Epsilon, Epsilon-Gamma, Omicron-Chi, Pi-Alpha, and Rho-Theta Chapters for their contributions to the installation.

Kappa Sigma Fraternity mourns the passing of Brother Curtis G. Smith, a 2003 initiate of the Xi-Delta Chapter at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Brother Smith touched the lives of many Kappa Sigma Brothers through his dedicated service as an Alumnus Advisor and, most recently, as District Grand Master of the South Texas District. He also served as President of the Xi-Delta Alumni Association, further demonstrating his commitment to supporting his Chapter and its Brothers.
We are deeply grateful for his years of volunteer service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to our Brotherhood.
Please keep his family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
May he be admitted into that rest. A.E.K.Δ.B.

Actor and Kappa Sigma Brother Dennis Haskins (Alpha-Iota, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, ’70), best known for his role as Principal Richard Belding on late 1980s-early 1990’s sitcom Saved by the Bell, has entered the Chapter Celestial. The Fraternity mourns his passing and offers condolences to his family.
Brothers from Chapters across Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland joined the WGS, DGM, ADGM, and other Kappa Sigma leaders at Gallaudet University to support our Mu-Iota Chapter and help kick off its fall Rush efforts.
Gallaudet is America’s leading university for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Kappa Sigma has been represented on campus since 1983, with nearly 600 initiates and a proud tradition built on our Four Pillars of Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service and our commitment to a Brotherhood without hazing.
Kappa Sigma is proud to be the only national fraternity represented on Gallaudet’s campus.
Good luck this fall, Brothers. Go Bison! 🦬
Construction continues in Charlottesville as the expansion of our International Headquarters and Campus takes shape.
From new museum features, expanded leadership training venues, archival space, and more, this project will serve our Brotherhood for generations to come.
Stay tuned as we continue to share updates from Headquarters!

Today we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, including six of our Kappa Sigma Brothers who never returned home.
We honor their lives, their legacies, and the families and loved ones who continue to carry their memory.
We also recognize the first responders and countless brave individuals who answered the call that day, as well as those who continue to serve and protect our campuses and communities every day.
We will never forget.
