I explained that Khamenei’s funeral is a show staged by the regime to send a message of unity among Iranians, while the reality is far from that.
His mourners are allowed to take to the streets and are given food, drinks, transportation, and security. Protesters, meanwhile, are met with bullets, arrests, and the threat of execution.
Khamenei was killed less than two months after his forces killed thousands of Iranian protesters.

I've been at South East Water HQ since the very early hours of this morning looking to speak to the CEO Dave Hinton.
So far no signs of him.
No replies to requests for an interview
Instead his comms team tell me there will be no comment just "our focus is on restoring water"

Words matter only in one case: if they are supported by actions. After a very strong US President’s statement, the world is closely to watch what kind of actions President Trump is to undertake. If there will be no actions, this will severely depreciate the words of President Trump. And this would have a negative and disastrous consequences for his reputation and for the reputation of the United States. @BBCNews @KarinBBC

Today marks EIGHT YEARS since British-American journalist Christopher Allen was shot dead while covering South Sudan’s civil war.
His family and lawyers have said that his killing and the handling of his body may constitute war crimes.
Despite this, authorities in South Sudan have failed to credibly investigate his killing or to hold anyone accountable.
Allen’s killing is symptomatic of the hostile environment for journalists in South Sudan.
On the anniversary of his killing, CPJ reiterates its call for authorities to finally deliver justice and to ensure the safety of all members of the press operating in South Sudan.
