September is National Suicide Prevention Month. Please take 5 minutes and go to KatiesSave.org to help us get Katie Mayer’s Law passed by Congress.
Andrea Kitahata and Ryan Campbell lost their Stanford team-mate Katie Meyer to suicide in 2022.
This #WorldMentalHealthDay, they reflect on how that experience shaped their commitment to mental health advocacy and supporting others ❤️

The USC GSOC program is very proud and excited to host our 9️⃣th Green Out Game for Suicide Prevention Month and Mental Health Awareness.
We are also very excited to once again collaborate with @CMLadyMacSoccer.
September is Suicide Prevention Month. The focus of the Green Out Game is to bring awareness and advocacy to mental illnesses and disorders and suicide prevention. Specifically for young adults and athletes.
1️⃣ and 6️⃣ adolescents aged 1️⃣2️⃣ to 1️⃣7️⃣ experience a major depressive episode, 3️⃣ million have serious thoughts of suicide. For individual individuals between the ages of 1️⃣0️⃣ and 3️⃣4️⃣, suicide is the second leading cause of death in the United States.
In 2022, four NCAA female athletes died by suicide. One of those young women was Katie Meyer. She was a standout national champion goalkeeper for Stanford University. We honor her, her family’s foundation, Katie’s Save, and anyone else who struggles with mental illnesses and disorders and suicide ideation.
We hope to see you at the game! WEAR GREEN! Please visit the table set up near the ticket booth for mental health and suicide, resources, giveaways, and general information.
