We're in a golden age for indie/AA gaming, which is good considering AI has ruined the hardware market AAA (also in shambles from corpo greed & private equity) depends on.
Spiritual successor to FromSoft's main series before DARK SOULS, KING'S FIELD. Check out the Steam reviews!

This is factual and worth knowing and coming to terms with if we are going to understand the rise of far-right sentiment. We are in an asymmetrical propaganda assault on democracy. The Islamophobia, anti immigrant craze is part of a concerted campaign to divide democratic nations. Be aware.
Whole Silver Pines OST is so good. 😫👌 Dark atmospheres brooding w/ noir mystery & melancholy. Beautiful, ethereal interludes. F'd-up, pulsing distortion. Laid-back jukebox jazz (relief, like RE save rooms). So Lynch. Sometimes stop playing & just listen. youtube.com/watch?v=dKwObSgn…
YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING
2026 film directed by Fielder, Oppenheim
REVIEW: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
"Why are you smiling?" "It's complicated." By far, the most fascinating piece of media I've experienced this year. YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING is an apt title, as this in-the-thick-of-it documentary begins with the unbearable tension and social terror of embedding a sharp-witted investigator, cameras, and mics into the home of an infamous fraudster (off to prison for 30 years in 30 days) to figure out the REAL truth of this person, but then unfurls, like the layers of an onion, into a MIND-BENDING look into quite practically everything:
psychology of individuals, psychology and power dynamics of relationships, the essential difficulties of communication and how different personality types (including the enigmatic) handle that, the role of media in regard to perception and portrayal of truth, and the nature of acting.
No one, not even the documentarians themselves, is safe. The film even becomes somewhat of a meta-commentary on documentaries. Through masterful structuring of years of footage, it does all this without explicitly talking about most of it, keeping focus on the attempt at divulging the real and honest truth of and around Elizabeth Holmes (the fraudster). Just one endlessly intriguing and/or viscerally gripping banger scene after another.
The great irony is, despite so much access and so much multi-layered probing into affairs and ideas, so much ultimately must be left ambiguous. Because we CAN'T see everything, no matter how hard we try or want to--particularly what's truly going on in the head of another. A masterwork I'll be thinking about for some time.
This was honestly the perfect movie to watch on Halloween, as it is aesthetically a psychological thriller and honestly scarier than any horror film I've seen recently. NOTHING has made me say "HOLY SHIT" more than this. Easily my top film of the year so far. Whole movie is this:

This is why LLMs can’t write interesting and novel content, and won’t be able to for the foreseeable future
Big losses aside, Google shoring up before AI bubble bursts? AI Overview not gone for me yet. 🤬 Get that shit outta here! Has to be bad on purpose. Too dumb & incorrect too often for too long. Regular Search even useful anymore or been SEO'd by trash AI content beyond usability?

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II ending surprised. IYKYK. Season 7.5/10, good but well shy of s01. Writing, direction, & animation were so chaotic in quality. Music use ALWAYS sucked ASS tho. Story's not tight. Needed 2-4 more episodes (1 for each main?) to flesh out arcs & motivations.
omg i was in the Walmart bathroom, leaning over a toilet to precisely place one of those paper covers on the seat, and the sensor flushed the toilet, spraying Walmart toilet water all in my face!!!!!
The glorious presidential election results in Brazil & listening to an audiobook of The Jakarta Method, which covers the US-backed, 21-year ('64-'85) military dictatorship in Brazil, got me thinking about '24 Oscar-winning film, I'm Still Here. Highly recommended (my #4 of 2024)!
