What's the #1 most important thing to do with your money on payday? I'll go first... Buy some crisps

Consumer debt is bullsh*t. We gotta fight back. Every extra dollar/pound spent on clearing your debts early will save you money on the interest. That means if you can: - cancel unused subscriptions - find better broadband deals - get cheaper car insurance - make any kind of cutback on your general 'lifestyle' expenses, without eating rice and beans daily... ... then you can: - become debt-free faster - pay less while doing (because less interest!) - be better off every month once it's all paid off It's all upside :)

Come on now. These fuel prices are a JOKE. Got the car about two years ago. About £60 to fill. At 10:30am today, over £100 to fill. wtf is going on?

On the recent Help to Buy scheme: Had a lot of feedback yesterday. Most people feel one of these things: 1 - Just a way to line the pockets of home builders 2 - It's overinflating property prices 3 - It's just bad 4 - It's actually GOOD. Especially for those currently renting Like with most things in life, I think there's a lot of nuance in buying a home this way. My worry is that some will be taking on even more debt. However... Maybe those same people will also be able to afford that debt. I guess some will be fine. Some won't. What do you think?

Buying a house in the UK is... Expensive (to say the least). The government is introducing a new 'Help to Buy ' scheme. But I'm wondering... If you need extra help to buy, maybe you simply can't afford to buy at all. Not saying that's your fault. The cost of living is out of control, after all. What are your thoughts? Help to Buy - good/bad/right/wrong?

Quick money tip: Save before you spend. Bad example: You wait to see if there is any money left at the end of the month to pop into your savings pot. Good example: You top up your savings the day you get paid, then spend what's left

Just saved £80 p/m (£960 a YEAR!) How? Cancelled two subscriptions I no longer need. Boom Done That money is now staying with me. It's mine. I'm keeping it. If you have debt or want some savings, do a quick monthly subscriptions audit. Then track your spending with the KeepyCash app. Have a great weekend!

When it comes to clearing debt - every extra payment counts. Even "micropayments"! Keep chipping away. Track your spending. Slap the extra you save on your debts. Before you know it... you'll see that magical "£0 owed"

My 3rd biggest money mistake: Not taking any career seriously until my early 30s. That and making truly awful career decisions until my early 30s. But if you are a late bloomer, like me, it's OK. We all travel down different paths. All you can do is go from where you are with what you got. Just keep working hard and moving forward 💪

Working a job that destroys your mental health is hell. It's hard to go back in time and save an emergency fund of 6-12 months in case you need to leave a job before you find a new one. But if you can save that money, do it. Knowing you've got a backup changes the game.

I made about £10 per minute for 30 minutes. Well, technically, I saved £10 per minute. All I did was shop around (for 30 mins) for car insurance before the auto-renewal kicked in and royally screwed me over. Remember: Nobody is going to look after your money like you do. And if you don't track it, it'll go walkabout into someone else's account. Track your money. Keep more of it.

My car insurance renewal quote came in HIGHER than it was. No accidents. No changes. Just a price increase. Scammers. I shopped around for about 20 mins and found a new one nearly HALF the price. Beware of insurance auto-renewals. Catch them, shop around and save yourself hundreds!

"Bills are up £300 when they were meant to be DOWN £300." I'm 43. So far, I haven't seen a single government come to rescue us from the rising cost of living. Nobody is coming to save you. Or me. That's why you must get better at taking care of yourself. Track your spending. Get clear on where your money is going. Clarity reduces anxiety and helps you make better money decisions. Just start small. Doesn't need to be a big, intimidating job. Download a spending tracker. Track one thing that's left your account today. Show up again tomorrow and build from there. Of course, I recommend you use the KeepyCash app. Forget the latest lie politicians are spewing... ... focus on you and what you can do. All the best :)
“Why are bills UP £300 when they were meant to be DOWN £300?” Martin puts your first question to Energy Secretary @Miatsf For more inc on standing charges, green policy, regional pricing, and Jan’s predicted 24% price hike. Watch the full energy bills special on itv.com/watch/the-martin-lew… ITVX

Quick Debt-Clearing Tip: Colouring in won't help you clear your debts (who knew?) Be a grown-up and do this instead... Start simple by tracking your spending. Studies show simply tracking your spending can save you over $1,000 per year. Use that money to pay off your debts. I did this and cleared 29 grand of consumer debt (credit cards & loans). Make life easier for yourself. Use an app. Happy tracking! (and saving)
