Wave home and wanting breakfast. Cheerful then, not so much now, I can hear him walking home from an afternoon and evening at his friend’s house. The pain of saying goodbye to a fun play date! Ouch!...

A gorgeous morning of October and Wave and I are up early and out for the bus. Smooth exit. Cheerful kid. Missing his mom but being brave. I take my six mile walk, a new one. Following my instincts I...

Set the alarm and didn’t snooze it, but stayed for awhile in that liminal space of between sleeping and waking, thinking about my poem, and revision, letting it marinate for a bit. I think this was...

All day the French doors where I sit at my computer are thrown open and it’s dark now and still so pleasantly inviting outdoors. A night for sleeping with the outdoors singing in from the yard. Wave...

Overslept, but somehow Wave made the bus. I was making his egg, kind of blind-tired and didn’t even realize he and his mother had hurried up to the bus. A very slow start for the holiday. Still, I...

I woke up feeling very happy and very tired. And the sky was wildly lit, orange and pink. And I had a lot to do. So I got up and got to to it. Coffee first. Yesterday’s party cleaned up, and today’s...
