CRKennedy Volleyball

Thursday, October 22 was our last home match of the season against North Scott in the regional semifinal. It also marked the very last time our Seniors would ever step out on that court for a match. We had a long and hard week with practice and an emotional win on Thursday. Since we won and knew we were practicing over the weekend and Monday we decided to have a little fun team bonding. On Friday, October 23, our practice consisted of just having a lot of fun on the court and a little painting project that had not been done since the 2015 season. Each varsity player picked out a brick in the storage room to mark their signature for the future generations of Kennedy Volleyball. We also included Helen, our foreign exchange student from Estonia. The bricks represent each player's character and personality. As a parent, I remember hearing how much fun my daughter and her teammates had doing this so as a coach I understood what this would mean to them. So we got some paint, some brushes and sponges and let these girls do their thing. It was a little messy, there were some spills, but mostly my fault, and a few players got painted on by their teammates. And yes, there was a request to paint my head It was one of the highlights of the season seeing all of the smiles and how happy they were and every time we step in to that room it will put a smile on everyone's faces. #oneteamonedream #RollCougs

Congratulations to these players for their Metro and Conference selections. They definitely could not have achieved this without the support of the rest of our team, the daily grind, our culture, and team first mentality.
