A Kent Star!
Very happy to have recently received my C Permit! Started 2 years ago when I was 14 and ringed around 2000 individuals since. Very pleased to now have my license. I even got a ringing tick of Bearded Tit whilst being assessed. @_BTO
This must be the first time song-flighting Curlew has ever been videoed in Kent, where this species has never bred. Congratulations to all concerned for getting to this stage. If safe, successful breeding can be established here it will hugely help the survival of this species.
Thank you @BBCBreakfast for featuring Elmley's part in the Head Start project to restore breeding Curlews to southern England.
This year for the 1st time in over 300yrs the song of courting Curlews was heard over the marsh as a young pair made an attempt to nest on the reserve
