I think the reason E-Day has been so well received is not because it's doing anything new, but in fact the opposite. Just like Space Marine II a couple of years back, it's a very familiar experience, well balanced and given a lick of paint. It's going back to times where not every game tried to gouge the playbase, had battle passes or other live service elements forced upon the player. It's a simple well made gameplay loop and a complete experience as it stands. That's a shockingly rare thing in AAA games today.

This whole modding thing is getting crazy. What seemed to start as a #VR bubble has now taken gaming as a whole by storm. I'm sure it's a temporary fixation (will probably die when #GTAVI arrives), but still, it's pretty wild out there right now.
