A suggestion for visualising and predicting the effects of new variants using "variant pressure", a quantity that can be calculated from the proportion of each variant. Shown here is variant pressure for the BA.2 and BA.5 waves in the UK, with a comparison to infection numbers.

In Denmark, BA.2 was introduced earlier and has outcompeted BA.1. As in the UK, BA.2 has the greatest growth advantage, followed by BA.1.1. BA.1 and BA.1.1 cases have been falling (r < 0) in recent weeks. BA.2 has been growing throughout, but appears to be peak now.

I'm worried this is happening across the country with communities that are hit hard not the ones getting vaccinated Solution is not to slow things down with complex rules Its to use data to track and proactively target efforts to ensure highest risk folks are not left behind
Who is dying: Who is vaccinated:

Delighted the #kingstreetpilot seems to be working well, but also a little bit mad. If change was this easy, why did we spend so long doing nothing?
